About the role

 

As a Senior Technical Researcher within the AdTech Technical Research Team, you'll play a pivotal role in exploring and understanding the latest technologies in the ad tech domain. You'll be responsible for conducting in-depth research, experimenting with new technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess their potential for integration into our systems. Your role will involve a blend of programming, research, and analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of various ad tech solutions. The following skills will be crucial:

  • Strong technical proficiency: Programming skills and the ability to understand large and complex systems and architectures.
  • Strong desire for learning and knowledge acquisition: Openness to continuous learning and expanding skills in the ad tech domain.
  • Independence: Ability to make decisions and take action without excessive supervision while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Goal-oriented mindset: Focus on achieving specific project goals and the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to effectively collaborate with team members and other teams, both internally and externally.
  • Good communication: Ability to clearly convey knowledge and information internally between teams and in cooperation with external organizations (major browser vendors, standardization forums like W3C, GitHub discussions).
  • Openness and willingness to experiment: Readiness to take on new challenges, explore new technologies, and seek innovative solutions.
  • Proactive attitude: Initiative in proposing ideas and actively seeking ways to improve existing processes and solutions.
  • Ability to build Proof of Concepts (PoCs): Capability to create prototypes and experimental solutions to evaluate their effectiveness and utility in practice.



You will work with following tech stack:

  • Python, Java, Scala, TypeScript/JavaScript
  • PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas
  • Jupyter Notebooks
  • BigQuery, GCP
  • Browser Engines 




Must have

  • 3+ years of experience as researcher or engineer.
  • Proficiency in programming.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders




Example projects and technologies

We evaluate multiple models during a request, including deep neural nets - Machine Learning is at the very heart of our operation. We are constantly improving and extending our platform.

Example projects include:

  • Exploring the potential of utilizing new privacy mechanisms, such as the Privacy Sandbox, which provides a set of APIs. Some of these APIs require in-depth understanding and investigation. This project involves potentially creating a Proof of Concept (PoC), testing, and potentially reporting necessary enhancements (e.g., as a GitHub issue or in a meeting). The aim is to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of integrating these privacy mechanisms into our systems while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and enhancing user privacy.
  • Exploration of solutions for mobile devices, focusing on understanding solutions for Android and iOS platforms. This project involves creating a potential solution to improve our performance on these platforms. It requires close collaboration with other teams, particularly in terms of integration and leveraging new opportunities in machine learning.
