About the Team

Our international and agile software team is searching for a motivated Intern in Redundant Flight Software Development. You enjoy working in a dedicated, dynamic and international environment that aims for high-performance engineering solutions in aerospace technology? Are you excited by the prospect of writing software and fault-tolerant architectures that directly safeguard mission success? Join us and help shape the next generation of resilient launch vehicle systems.

Your Tasks

  • Support the design, build and test of prototype redundant flight computer architectures and network topologies utilizing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware 
  • Evaluate and modify COTS hardware configurations to expand operational envelopes in extreme flight environments  
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify failures, define fault-tolerance requirements and implement robust software countermeasures 
  • Analyze the overall avionics architecture to identify opportunities for leveraging standard instrumentation sensors and processing units to improve system fault tolerance 
  • Design and build Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test setups to validate enhanced fault-tolerance algorithms  

Your Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor or Master studies in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Computer Science, or related discipline 
  • Demonstrated experience in embedded software development, gained through academic projects, student competitions, or prior internships 
  • Understanding of sensor and actuator interfacing, including hardware - software integration and communication between embedded systems and peripheral devices 
  • Experience working with Python, C/C++, Git and Linux 
  • Self-driven, hands-on mentality paired with a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving 
  • Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English)
