Senior Appian Application Engineer

The Role 

We are looking for an Appian Application Engineer with strong Appian development experience and solid database knowledge (SQL Server preferred). The ideal candidate is an Appian-certified developer who is ready to take increased ownership while continuing to grow into a lead-level role. 

What You'll Own  

• Take ownership of defined Appian development tasks and application deliverables within client project workstreams  
• Design and build Appian process models, interfaces, records, and expression rules to deliver robust, maintainable business applications  
• Translate business requirements into practical Appian solutions, with support from senior engineers where needed  
• Create clean, intuitive user interfaces that can be easily used by non-technical end users  
• Support the implementation of integrations between Appian and other business systems, including database-backed applications  
• Execute test cycles and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation  
• Act as a technical contact for clients, clearly communicating progress, risks, and issues  
• Identify opportunities for application and performance improvements and proactively raise them with the project team  
• Stay up to date on Appian platform updates, low-code trends, and BPM best practices  
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Roboyo’s Appian delivery standards and internal practices 

Requirements  

• Education in Computer Science, Business & Information Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical field  
• 2–4 years of hands-on Appian or low-code development experience in a professional environment  
• Strong working knowledge of Appian process models, records, interfaces, and expression rules  
• Appian certification is required (Associate or higher)  
• Solid database knowledge, with SQL Server experience preferred  
• UI-focused mindset with an eye for clean, user-friendly Appian interfaces  
• Basic experience with REST APIs and integrating applications with external systems  
• Comfortable with test execution and writing clear technical documentation  
• Background knowledge of Java, SQL, or scripting languages is a plus  
• Confident communicator, able to work directly with clients and non-technical stakeholders  
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong problem-solving mindset  
• Business-fluent or native English; additional languages are a plus
