Senior Field Marketing Manager (US Market) - Chicago Based
About us
Risk Ledger is developing a network of connected organisations, all working together to defend against cybersecurity attacks in the supply chain.
Organisations rely on us to establish trust, through sharing their security maturity and visualising the risks posed by their supply chain ecosystem. And we’re already trusted by customers like British Airways, BAE Systems and the NHS.
We are putting together an amazing and talented team from a diverse set of backgrounds and skillsets to drive us towards our vision. Risk Ledger is built on the respect we have for one another and our users, united by our shared values and mission.
Every one of us is still learning: it’s how we grow as individuals. We’re curious. We’re ambitious. And we’re humble and honest. At Risk Ledger, we aim high to find the best solutions we can and always put our users first.
About The Role:
The US is a major growth market for Risk Ledger, and we're looking for our first dedicated US Field Marketing Manager to establish and grow our presence in the market.
You'll play a leading role in shaping our brand experience in the US through a mix of event and field programs. You’ll work closely with the Global Marketing Team and US Sales to define which audiences we prioritize, then build and execute a roadmap of extraordinary in-person experiences that accelerate deals and deepen customer relationships.
This role is central to our pipeline and go-to-market strategy, and you’ll be comfortable building the full event lifecycle to support this, including reporting on the success and outcomes of your programs. There is no existing US playbook, so we’re looking for someone who can build structure from a blank page, chase what they need from busy stakeholders, learn quickly and adjust based on what they see.
You'll bring a strategic lens to audience segmentation, investment decisions, and program measurement, while also rolling up your sleeves to execute end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and execute a portfolio of targeted field programs including executive dinners, roundtables, customer experiences, industry events, trade shows and partner activations.
- Build pre-event, day of, and post-event engagement strategies that maximize registration-to-attendance conversion and drive strong sales follow-up.
- Help shape Risk Ledger's US field marketing strategy, aligning investment and activity to sales priorities, pipeline goals and target accounts.
- Partner closely with Sales on territory and account strategy, ensuring field programs reach the right people at the right moments in the buying cycle.
- Build the processes and playbooks that turn successful programs into a repeatable US field marketing program.
- Manage field marketing budgets, making commercially informed investment decisions and holding programs accountable to measurable outcomes.
- Integrate field activity with Demand Generation, Product Marketing and Content to create connected campaigns and community programs.
- Track and report performance across sourced and influenced pipeline, engagement quality and account progression, using data and feedback to test, learn and optimize.
- Build relationships with industry groups, event partners and strategic partners to create co-marketing opportunities that expand our reach into priority communities and support commercial objectives.
- Act as our eyes and ears on the ground, bringing customer and market insight back to the wider marketing and GTM team.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience building a US field marketing program for an international company entering the US market for the first time.
- 5+ years of B2B tech or SaaS field marketing, ideally selling into mid-market or enterprise organizations.
- A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing. You can zoom out to shape a program strategy and zoom in to make sure every detail gets done.
- A 0→1 mindset. You're comfortable with ambiguity, limited data and no existing playbook, and instinctively build structure rather than wait for it.
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder management, with the ability to align Sales, Marketing and leadership and move quickly.
- A strong commercial mindset and close partnership with Sales. You understand that a successful field program doesn't end when the event does and are focused on turning engagement into quality conversations, pipeline and revenue.
- A curious, data-driven approach. You test, measure, learn and iterate, and are comfortable showing your working.
- A deep understanding of B2B buying cycles and a focus on generating quality pipeline, not simply delivering events.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to quickly build a network of vendors, venues, partners and prospects in a new market.
Nice To Haves:
- Experience marketing to cybersecurity, risk, compliance, procurement or other technical B2B audiences.
- Existing relationships with relevant US venues, partners, communities or event vendors.
- Experience with account-based marketing or account-based field program.
- Experience working in a high-growth startup or scale-up.
- Salesforce and marketing automation experience.
This role probably isn't the right fit if you:
- Prefer a well-established playbook, clear processes and lots of historical data to work from.
- Want to focus primarily on event delivery rather than the strategy, commercial thinking and sales partnership behind it.
- Need a large team around you to get things moving or prefer to wait for direction before taking action.
- Aren't comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, testing an approach and changing course when it doesn't work.
- See success as delivering great events rather than what happens afterwards, i.e. the quality of the conversations, sales follow-up, pipeline and revenue they generate.
- Find it frustrating to build relationships and get things done in an environment where you need to proactively chase information, decisions and support.
What Success Looks Like After 12 Months:
- There's a defined roadmap and a repeatable set of field program running in the US, aligned to sales priorities.
- Field programs are demonstrably contributing pipeline against US sales targets.
- We have the vendor, venue and partner relationships needed to run US field activity without starting from scratch each time.
- Our US Sales Director treats field marketing as a core lever in the US GTM strategy.
Why This Role Matters:
This is a high-impact role at a pivotal stage of Risk Ledger's growth. The US is one of the biggest opportunities ahead and we're not hiring someone to inherit a mature field marketing machine. We're hiring someone to build it.
You'll have the opportunity to shape how Risk Ledger shows up in the US, build the relationships that matter and create a field marketing program that will support our growth in the market.
You'll have strategic support from the central marketing team and close partnership with our Field Marketing & Community Lead and US Sales Director, but significant autonomy to determine what works in the US and continually improve our approach.
This role will suit someone energized by a blank page, comfortable being the person who makes things happen, and excited by the opportunity to build something from 0→1.
