About the role
We’re looking for a strategic, execution-focused leader to join our Product Development leadership team as Director of Product & Technology Operations. This role is responsible for driving the operational excellence, planning, and cross-functional coordination of our fast-paced and large-scale product and engineering function.
Reporting into the COO you will work closely with the Director of Product, Director of Engineering, CIO and CISO to bring structure and discipline to how we plan, operate, and execute.
Key responsibilities
Ops Leadership & Team Enablement
- Deliver operational efficiency, tooling improvements, and process clarity across teams.
- Regularly review and identify opportunities to improve functional structure and approach, staying abreast of the latest industry trends.
- Ensure effective cross-discipline ceremonies and rhythms to ensure streamlined delivery and continuous improvement.
Planning
- Responsible for the annual and quarterly planning cycles (including roadmap definition, capacity and investment planning).
- Own the company-wide OKR framework, driving an outcome-focused approach to execution.
- Coordinate the cross-functional planning calendar and ensure inputs/outputs and repeatable.
Portfolio & Delivery Operations
- Maintain an end-to-end view of the product and tech portfolio.
- Drive continuous improvement through the creation of consistent reporting on delivery health, team performance, and value realisation.
- Input into strategic and operational reviews, gathering information and preparing materials to support decision-making.
Strategic delivery
- Act as the escalation and risk management point for high-impact delivery challenges.
- Ensure the effective running of a small but high-impact Programme Management function that supports complex, cross-cutting initiatives.
Ideal candidate:
- Proven experience in a senior tech/product strategy or operational role, ideally within a scaled tech org (250+).
- Modern understanding of current Product & Tech operating models and best practices.
- Empathetic leader, able to demonstrate the ability to create high-performing teams and influence change across the organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong influencing capability.
- Structured and analytical mindset and a bias for action.
- Able to articulate complex concepts and produce high-quality outputs.
