As part of a multi-skilled technology function, you will work closely with Product Managers and Delivery Managers to shape priorities, support OKRs, and ensure successful delivery of both strategic change and BAU activity. This is a key role with significant influence on the future direction of our technology landscape.

Supporting solution design, problem solving, automation, platform improvement, and the resolution of complex technical issues where needed.
  • Cloud and platform management: Drive the effective adoption and operation of our cloud platforms and related infrastructure services, ensuring cloud capabilities are implemented in a robust, well-governed, and operationally sustainable way.
  • Own operational performance and BAU delivery: Ensure the effective day-to-day operation of infrastructure services, including monitoring, patching, lifecycle management, incident response, continuity, and continual service improvement.
  • Drive delivery and prioritisation: Work closely with Product Managers and Delivery Managers to shape OKRs, prioritise work, and deliver infrastructure change, projects, and service improvements alongside BAU commitments.
  • Lead stakeholders and translate complexity: Build strong relationships across technology and the business, translating technical issues, risks, and opportunities into clear, practical language for non-technical and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop capability, standards, and ways of working: Lead and support whilst driving consistency through automation, documentation, and modern engineering practices.

We’re looking for someone with

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure services, networking, identity, governance, and operational management
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell
  • Demonstrable experience leading or mentoring infrastructure engineers within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, hardening, monitoring, resilience, compliance, and operational best practice
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of complex infrastructure challenges from design through to resolution · The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A strong track record of hands-on infrastructure engineering and technical leadership in complex environments
  • Deep knowledge of both cloud and enterprise infrastructure, including servers, networking, identity, storage, and modern device management
  • Strong experience of infrastructure modernisation, particularly in Microsoft Azure-led environments
  • Experience balancing strategic change, operational improvement, and BAU service ownership
  • A strong understanding of IT security practices and experience working alongside security teams to ensure infrastructure is resilient and compliant
  • The ability to lead across a broad technology remit, operating effectively in Agile ways of working while remaining delivery-focused and outcome-driven
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to develop people, build trust, and drive high standards across the team
  • A hands-on approach to infrastructure engineering, with an emphasis on operational efficiency and automation
