General Manager
An excellent General Manager is required for the remarkable scheme of Lancer Square, a mixed-use luxury development located in Kensington.
The Scheme:
Lancer Square comprises residential, retail and offices spread across three buildings with a central courtyard linked by two levels of basement space.
There are 4 retail units on the ground floor, 36 private residential apartments and, an entire block dedicated to office accommodation. There is an estate loading bay used by all occupiers. Basement 2 houses a private car park for residents as ell as cycle stores, residential spa, swimming pool, gym, staff welfare and plant rooms.
The Role:
The General Manager (GM) is the most senior member of staff and ultimately manages all staff on site. It is expected that the individual will have a close working relationship with the client, will be customer facing and will be central to the experience of the residents, their staff and all visitors. The role has been structured to give time for relationship management, dealing with the unexpected, and most importantly delegation of specialist skills to other team members.
This is a highly empowered position requiring high energy and the ability to motivate, cultivate and mentor high performance teams devoted to achieving the highest standards of resident satisfaction and exceptional service.
As a leader, the GM will ensure the multiple service elements operate effectively across the scheme including responsibility for all aspects of the operations, including resident and employee satisfaction. They will build resident loyalty through proactive communications, setting and managing expectations and delivering results. They are the ambassador for the brand and the development.
Key responsibilities:
They will have significant experience in industry-leading mixed-use, amenity-rich schemes and will bring skills that have been acquired in these areas, including:
- Establish excellent relationships with residents, contractors, and team members alike. A comprehensive understanding of the needs and lifestyles of high profile and high net worth individuals.
- Deliver the highest levels of service and setting the bar for luxury residential developments as well as premium commercial space in the area.
- Accountable for the leadership of the team, provide the vision, leadership and strategy to inspire your team to deliver service that delights the residents.
- Oversee the delivery of key service elements and ensure integration is seamless and a consistent vision is delivered.
- Develop and maintain good business and community relationships; support and participate in those business and community activities, which will benefit the property’s positioning and maintain positive public image for the development.
- Provide and support service behaviours that are ‘above and beyond’ for resident satisfaction and retention.
- Managing and reporting to the client on health and safety onsite.
- Regular reporting to head office and holding meetings to discuss activity on site, HR issues, resident meetings/concerns, maintenance issues, budgeting etc.
- Develop and motivate an energetic and engaging team. Provide knowledge, support and coach team, through monthly reviews and behavioural goals.
- Interact in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members. Ensuring that the Rhodium culture is threaded throughout the guest and team member experience.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years General Management experience in super-prime in mixed-used and/or residential developments
- Experience of dealing with service charges or budgets of £1m
- Fluent in English. Language skills in other languages preferable
- In-depth health and safety knowledge, IOSH/NEBOSH preferred
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Strong network of current contacts within current London luxury services and hospitality
