About this role:

Renaissance Global is looking for a Statistician to join our experienced Research and Statistics team in developing the next generation of assessments.  

The Statistician will ensure assessments are fit for purpose, support the development of new assessments and data services, and conduct technical reviews of Renaissance Global’s current assessment portfolio.

The Statistician will be expected to conduct statistical analysis, supporting and advising on data collation and remodelling across a range of internal and external projects.  

Statistician Job Responsibilities:

When looking at the responsibilities can be broken down into the following:

  • Contribute to basic and more advanced statistical analysis of research and assessment data: 
  • Contribute to analysis services provided to clients such as Multi Academy Trusts, International School groups and Ministries around the world. 
  • Support on internal educational research activities based on large assessment datasets. 
  • Provide input into internally and externally authored assessment content and associated reporting and analytics. 
  • Assist in the design of and implementation of statistical analysis for trials and standardisation projects for current and new assessment products. 
  • Contribute to statistical elements of proposals and project design. 
  • Adhere to statistical quality assurance procedures. 
  • Maintain records of analyses carried out, and documentation of the technical specifications of the Renaissance Global assessment portfolio. 
  • Attend training courses, seminars or conferences as required by the role and agreed with the Head of Research, presenting in an academic capacity where necessary. 
  • Provide statistical training and instruction to Renaissance Global staff where required. 
  • Conducting other professional duties from time to time, as directed by the Head of Research.

Skills and experience required:

To be considered for the role of Statistician, we are looking for a graduate statistician who has completed at least a 12 month within a role as a Statistician (this can have during a placement year). We are looking for a statistician who has broad knowledge and understanding of applied statistical methods and has relevant experience with analytical software, ideally R, SPSS or Python.   

 You will also have:

  • A broad knowledge and understanding of applied statistical methods. 
  • A willingness to use classical test theory and item response theory. 
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise own work and work independently to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Experience with general linear models, forecasting etc. 
  • A degree in statistics or equivalent. 
  • Post graduate study with a high statistics component.

  • Ability to present analyses to external and internal audiences and communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.

Additional information: 

This is role is a Hybrid role based out of our Vantage Head office (Renaissance Vantage London, Great West Road, Brentford, TW8 9AG) with the expectation with some travel to other offices as required for team..   

We offer a competitive basic salary between £35,000 - £43,000 per annum dependent on experience, Plus lots of amazing benefits.
