
(Senior) Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Team
The Customer Payment team is responsible for the integration with our Servicing Bank and processing all payments through it on the Raisin platform. Most importantly, account creations, payments execution and reconciliations, and transaction compliance are in the domain of this team.
The team is part of the “Customer Tribe”, which consists of 3 teams that collaborate closely on the mission to build and run state of the art Customer and Transaction Account experiences to grow Raisin at scale.
The Customer Payments team provides:
- the full lifecycle of the transaction accounts
- overview of the account balance and transaction history
- payment processing in real-time
- payments reconciliation
- platform abstractions of servicing banks
The team is a cross-functional team currently with BE and FE engineers.
The team owns the whole lifecycle from design, and development through maintenance of the services at runtime. This includes modern and legacy services, while the team works dedicated to replacing the legacy services.
Your Responsibilities
For further development and expansion of our successful business, Raisin is looking for highly motivated, smart, and driven engineers to complement our team. As a Java developer, you will be working on our customer payment services together with an international team of top developers.
- Providing core services and high quality solutions for a large scale online platform and everything related to our payment systems
- Integrating externally developed components into existing application environments
- Together with the rest of the team, setting standards, establishing guidelines and sharing best practices in order to ensure continuous learning and development
Your daily tasks will be:
- You perform the software engineer tasks with great attention to quality, and support other engineers in your team to do the same.
- You do strong code reviews, ensuring not only best practices and business rules, but also performance, security, impact on other features or projects, and always with respectful and constructive communication.
- You work within your team to negotiate and document standards and practices in software development.
- You research and shape multiple alternative technical solutions when possible.
- You assume end to end ownership on the team projects' delivery.
- You actively manage the technical documentation in your team.
- You actively manage the technical debt in your team.
- You participate in the hiring process with techfit interviews and tech challenge reviews.
Your Profile
- You have a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields or equivalent practical experience.
- You bring at least 8+ years of development experience as a senior Java software developer (10+ years is preferred).
- You know how to manage software projects to a successful delivery in a collaborative fashion.
- You have up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle in a Java-technology landscape.
- You are comfortable with open code and architecture discussions.
- You bring experience with AWS Services, K8S, Event Driven architecture (Kafka and ActiveMQ), Springboot, SQL and NoSQL.
- Fluency in English
Technical Skills:
Must-Have:
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Solid understanding and practical application of design patterns
- Hands-on experience with testing practices (unit, integration)
- Tools: JUnit, Mockito, TestContainers
- Excellent communication skills – ability to articulate challenges and solutions clearly
- Proven team player – collaborates well with others and supports shared goals
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB or similar)
- Familiarity with reactive programming (e.g., Project Reactor, WebFlux)
Soft Skills:
Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities; able to analyze production issues and design robust solutions (is a very good to have)
