The role

We’re looking for Accountant Subject Matter Experts to join our Expert Network to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models using professional accounting insight. If you have an accounting background, we’ll send you a quick 10- to 15-minute test to assess your skills and suitability for AI tasks. If successful, you’ll be invited to join Prolific’s Accounting Projects as a participant, where you’ll get paid to train and evaluate powerful AI models.

Researchers looking for your skills tend to pay between up to $60 per hour depending on skills and experience level. You must be prepared to complete paid tasks that require one hour of uninterrupted work, though many are shorter.

What you’ll bring

• Accounting Background: you have an accounting degree, professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA etc.), or relevant experience as an accountant.
• Attention to Detail: the ability to review complex documentation and identify key nuances or inaccuracies.
• Critical Thinking: an "accounting mind" capable of providing logical, fact-based reasoning to support your answers.
• Reliability: the ability to work independently on ad hoc, remote assignments that fit around your existing commitments.
• A PayPal account to receive payment from our clients
  
  

What you’ll be doing in the role

• Document Evaluation: Reviewing complex financial statements, audit reports, and regulatory filings to ensure data integrity.
• AI Model Guidance: answering specific questions based on document content to help AI models understand technical or formal language.
• Fact-Checking & Validation: ensuring that the outputs generated by AI systems align with professional standards and logical accounting frameworks.
• Knowledge Sharing: providing expert feedback to help bridge the gap between human expertise and machine learning.
