The role

As the Human Data Lifecycle Operations Partner, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the systems that grow and sustain Prolific’s specialised participant pools. You’ll operate at the intersection of data, marketing, and operations—turning analytical insight into operational action and leading cross-functional projects that improve acquisition, engagement, and retention.

This is a builder role in a fast-evolving, highly collaborative environment. You’ll design, test, and deliver 0→1 pilots across sourcing, activation, and re-engagement; measure their impact; and help define what the next generation of Human Data growth operations should look like. You’ll work closely with Data Science, Growth Marketing, Participant Engagement, and Product teams—closing the loop between strategy and execution to make our participant ecosystem healthier, more scalable, and more responsive to customer needs.

 

What you’ll bring to the role

• Experience in growth, operations, or lifecycle management, ideally within marketplace or platform environments.
• Proven ability to design and deliver cross-functional projects end-to-end, from insight to implementation and measurement.
• Strong analytical literacy: comfortable building simple dashboards, pulling data in Metabase or SQL, and using metrics to prioritise and validate actions.
• Ability to translate data-driven insights into operational improvements across acquisition, activation, and retention. You will not live behind a spreadsheet. 
• Familiarity with automation and operational tools (e.g. Metabase, Zapier, n8n, Workflow Automations, Looker, Relay.app).
• Excellent stakeholder management and async communication skills; able to align technical, marketing, and operations teams around shared outcomes and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in 0→1 environments—building new processes, pilots, or playbooks where none existed before.
• Curiosity, resilience, and a bias for action—able to experiment quickly, learn from results, and scale what works.
• Familiarity with human data operations, product or data operations, participant recruitment, or managing global crowdsourcing/gig-economy platforms.
• Experience with the AI/ML lifecycle, such as data labelling, annotation, or domain-specific task curation.

  What you’ll be doing in the role 

• Design and run cross-functional growth pilots that improve participant acquisition, engagement, and retention (e.g., partnerships, affiliate/referral programs, nudging and reactivation campaigns).
• Turn analytical insights into action by identifying funnel bottlenecks, running quick analyses, and coordinating fixes with Data Science, Marketing, and Ops.
• Spin up lightweight dashboards and ad hoc reports to track funnel performance and surface opportunities.
• Partner with Growth Marketing and Participant Comms to test new sourcing channels, messaging, and engagement loops.
• Work with Data Science to interpret model outputs, provide business context and ensure operational teams act on findings.
• Recommend new roles, tooling, or process investments based on what’s proving effective in practice.
• Document and communicate learnings and operational changes across Human Data, Marketing, and Product.
• Contribute to quarterly planning by surfacing data-driven priorities and impact opportunities.
