Learning & Development Specialist
Job description
Who we are
We’re Policy Expert, a home and motor insurance provider and we’re on a mission to shake up the personal insurance industry. We feel that insurers have under-served customers for too long with confusing policies, expensive renewals and frustrating claims processes. It is time to put customers first!
Since we formed in 2011, we’ve been using breakthrough thinking and proprietary tech to provide insurance that’s clear, fair and great value. And people like what we do. So much so that we now have well over one million customers, driven by our double-digit growth. We also take great pride in having been the UK’s No.1-rated home insurance provider for 9 years.
We have big aspirations. Our ‘North Star’ is ‘To be the most successful insurance disruptor people want to stay with for life’. As we grow, we plan on continuing to challenge the norms of an insurance industry whose reputation for customer trust is low, where switching between providers is high and insurance cover is often seen as a costly ‘grudge purchase’.
We aim to build longer and deeper relationships with our customers and to help them see insurance as being a help, not a hindrance.
The role and what you’ll be doing:
As our Learning & Development Specialist, you’ll be the beating heart of colleague growth across our organisation. This is a role with real impact, where every learner interaction is an opportunity to inspire, empower, and elevate.
You’ll be central helping shape a culture of continuous learning, working with amazing colleagues across all areas of the business to make learning engaging, effective, and fun.
We’re looking for someone who’s just as comfortable designing a high-impact workshop as they are welcoming new joiners with a friendly icebreaker. If you’ve got a passion for people, a flair for facilitation, and a sharp eye for detail, you might just be the person we’re looking for.
Main Responsibilities:
🌟 Be the face of learning – Deliver and continuously improve the learning experience, from our onboarding journey, ensuring new starters feel informed, inspired, and fully equipped to thrive through to our management development programmes.
🌱 Stay close to the ground – Work with colleagues and subject matter experts to identify local training needs and respond with agile, creative solutions.
✅ Design & facilitate blended learning – Create and lead learning experiences that combine workshops, digital tools, coaching, and more across our Policy Expert sites.
🤝 Engage and energise – Deliver learning in-person, online via MS Teams, or through creative eLearning—whatever the format, you’ll make it memorable.
🎯 Champion CPD – Support key stakeholders with the completion of CPD in the business.
So then… who are you?
