Location: London (Hybrid) | Reporting to: Head of Studio | Department: Production Management | Salary: £45,000 - £50,000  | Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract


Role Overview 

Platform Media is entering an exciting phase of growth, expanding further into high-value broadcast and long-form productions. We are seeking an experienced Post-Production Operations Manager to shape and lead the infrastructure behind our post-production workflows across multiple concurrent projects.

This role will take ownership of post-production operations, ensuring seamless delivery, robust compliance, effective freelance resource management, and end-to-end media lifecycle governance.

The successful candidate will bring clarity, structure, and technical authority to a fast-scaling production slate - playing a pivotal role in building a best-in-class post-production environment.


Key Responsibilities

Post Workflow & Governance

  • Design and implement structured post-production workflows across all projects, while enhancing current processes and improving integration with existing tools
  • Create and maintain post documentation and delivery guides
  • Own the end-to-end post pipeline (ingest → offline → online → delivery → archive)
  • Enforce archiving and retention policies
  • Establish clarity between production and post at project kickoff
  • Oversee data management and storage for all productions
  • Ensure consistency across projects while adapting workflows to different formats and outputs

Delivery & Technical Compliance

  • Oversee technical deliveries (broadcast, digital, platform)
  • Oversee QC processes including format, audio, metadata and compliance checks
  • Manage offline-to-online turnover
  • Liaise with post houses for grade, mix and final delivery
  • Maintain and evolve delivery presets and compliance templates (AS-11, IMF, EBU R128 etc.)

Post Resource & Capacity Management

  • Work with production management to build post-production budgets
  • Coordinate freelance editors and and post-production talent across projects
  • Oversee post schedules and ensure efficient resource allocation
  • Forecast capacity during peak production periods
  • Forecast capacity and identify scaling needs during peak periods
  • Manage relationships with external post houses
  • Support producers in setting realistic timelines and delivery expectations

Storage & Media Lifecycle Ownership

  • Own media tracking across active and completed productions
  • Ensure all rushes, drives and assets are properly logged, tracked and accessible
  • Implement and enforce archiving and retention policies
  • Log freelancer account subscriptions to help manage bloat
  • Manage final delivery retention and archiving cycles
  • Manage post-related tools, accounts and subscriptions

Systems Development

  • Build and maintain a scalable post-production tracking system
  • Work with tools such as Monday.com (or similar) to streamline workflows
  • Explore and integrate new technologies, including AI-assisted post workflows
  • Improve visibility of post status, delivery timelines and storage health
  • Create reporting visibility on post status and storage health

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in post-production (broadcast, factual, long-form or branded)
  • Proven experience in managing workflows and processes across multiple projects
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast and platform delivery standards (AS-11, IMF, EBU R128, etc.) as well as podcast formats and specifications
  • Experience managing freelance post teams (editors, sound, grade, mix) and coordinating post schedules across multiple projects
  • Experience working in shared storage environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Premiere Pro and Avid workflows
  • Experience handling offline to online turnover
  • Confident QC and technical delivery oversight
  • Experience working with external post houses and vendors
  • Tech-savvy and enthusiastic about exploring and implementing new technologies, including AI-driven tools and workflows
