The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Customer Development Manager, reporting to our Head of Growth, to help broaden the impact we have with customers. This role sits at the intersection of account management, business development, and cross-functional collaboration, focused on scaling our presence across key accounts and industries. You’ll operate across multiple accounts to spot patterns, shape opportunities, and deepen relationships. Your mission is to help drive customer growth and transform the future of engineering.

Account Management & Customer Success

  • Build and maintain deep relationships with key customer stakeholders across accounts.
  • Drive account growth and long-term success by identifying new opportunities, expanding usage, and ensuring value delivery.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s goals and how PhysicsX solutions align with their priorities.
  • Monitor customer health and proactively address risks or blockers to customer success.
  • Support forward-deployed teams on strategic accounts, including commercial framing, value articulation, and relationship management.

Business Development

  • Engage directly with prospective and existing customers to grow the commercial pipeline across verticals. This includes travelling to sites in North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, an average of 4-6 weeks per quarter.
  • Lead sales conversations, scope partnerships, and support deal structuring and negotiation.
  • Identify patterns in customer needs, usage, and value delivery—helping to refine our vertical strategy and offering.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve business development materials:
  • Pitch decks, product demos, case studies, testimonials, and publications.
  • Prioritize and plan engagement opportunities (events, conferences, campaigns) to drive customer growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Delivery and Product teams to ensure strong feedback loops between customer insights and platform development.
  • Provide actionable input to Product on feature gaps, roadmap priorities, and customer impact stories.
  • Partner with marketing and growth teams to support vertical-specific content and campaigns (e.g., aerospace, automotive).
  • Participate in pipeline and growth process reviews to continuously improve how we scale.

What you bring to the table

  • 6–10 years of experience in business development, strategic account management, or customer-facing growth roles at a tech, SaaS, or engineering company.
  • Proven success in managing and growing enterprise customer relationships.
  • Deep expertise in one of the following key sectors: Semi-conductors, Aerospace, Energy, Materials and chemicals, or Auto
  • Strong experience leading complex B2B sales and account expansion conversations.
  • Ability to identify patterns across multiple accounts and translate them into actionable business and product insights.
  • Excellent communicator, able to bridge technical, commercial, and strategic conversations.
  • Background in engineering or technical disciplines is a significant plus, particularly when combined with customer-facing or commercial experience.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Delivery, Marketing) in dynamic, fast-moving environments

Salary range:

$160,000 - 240,000 depending on experience 
Seniority will be assessed throughout our interview process
