Odoo Technical Lead

The Odoo Technical Lead is the primary technical expert for the company's Odoo platform and a key member of the Office IT team.

 

While Odoo represents the core focus of the role, this position extends beyond ERP administration and development. The successful candidate will contribute to a broad range of business application, integration, automation, and digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

We are looking for a curious and adaptable professional who enjoys learning new technologies, understanding business processes, and taking ownership of technical challenges beyond a predefined scope.

 

The role combines business analysis, solution design, Odoo configuration, development, integrations, training, and project delivery responsibilities while actively contributing to the evolution of the wider Office IT service portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

Odoo Leadership & Business Applications

• Act as the internal subject matter expert for Odoo.
• Lead the migration of business processes from legacy applications to Odoo.
• Configure, customize, and optimize Odoo modules and workflows.
• Design and implement scalable solutions supporting Finance, HR, Sales, Operations, and other business functions.
• Support business stakeholders in identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.
• Analyze business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Produce functional and technical documentation.
• Recommend best practices and process optimizations.

Development, Automation & Integrations

• Develop and maintain Odoo customizations and automations.
• Design and maintain integrations with enterprise systems.
• Support API development, data migrations, and synchronization processes.
• Contribute to automation initiatives across the wider application landscape.
• Evaluate and implement technical solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.

Internal Capability Building

• Support the Head of Office IT in developing the company's internal Odoo capability.
• Create documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
• Train users and Office IT team members.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and reduce dependency on external consultants.

Broader Office IT Contribution

As a member of the Office IT team, you will actively contribute beyond Odoo.

Examples may include:

• Microsoft 365 initiatives.

• Application onboarding and evaluations.

Required Skills

Technical Experience

• Strong experience with Odoo implementation, configuration, and customization.
• Experience with ERP systems and business applications.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, and data migrations.
• Familiarity with Python, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs.
• Understanding of cloud-hosted applications and modern IT environments.

Functional

• Understanding of Finance, HR, Sales, Procurement, and Operations processes.
• Strong business analysis capabilities.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Personal
