Head of PSP Tech

The Head of PSP Tech at PGWay will lead the development of a cutting-edge payment solutions department, overseeing PSP integrations, building a scalable tech infrastructure, and managing a high-performing team. This role requires expertise in fintech, payment processing systems, and strategic leadership to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

This role combines technical expertise with strategic vision to position PGWay as a leader in global payment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • To lead the PSP tech department, including defining team structure, roles and workflows
  • Implement KPIs for team performance and operational efficiency, aligning with company objectives
  • Design and execute multi-PSP strategies to enhance global payment processing, reduce dependency on single providers, and improve transaction success rates
  • Collaboration with Business and Product unit
  • Collaboration with other departments: country managers, b2b teams, affiliate managers 
  • Integrate PSPs (e.g., CIS providers) with a focus on cascading, routing optimization, and minimizing conversion drop-offs
  • Monitor PSP performance metrics and troubleshoot integration issues
  • Hire and mentor technical talent (engineers, analysts, DevOps) with expertise in payment gateways, APIs, and fraud prevention
  • Collaborate with HR to source candidates from platforms like LinkedIn, GitHub, and Stack Overflow
  • Conduct onboarding programs aligned with technical training and company values
  • Analyze competitors’ PSP ecosystems to identify market gaps and opportunities
  • Manage infrastructure, and R&D

Requirements

  • 5+ years in PSP management, payment systems, or fintech leadership roles, including 2+ years in iGaming, crypto, or forex
  • Proficiency in payment gateways, transaction routing, and fraud detection tools
  • Proven ability to scale teams in fast-paced environments
  • Experience with P2P payment systems and chargeback mitigation
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance and multi-regional payment regulations
  • Fluency in data analysis tools (SQL, Tableau) for optimizing conversion rates
