The position is a broad legal role with a primary focus on fund formation, supporting both the private equity and debt platforms. The individual will sit within Permira’s Fund Legal team and report directly to a Senior Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with establishing the operational structure of our funds across both Permira’s private equity and credit business
- Assisting the team with reviewing and negotiating fund legal documents (LPA, side letters, etc.), SMA structures and LP co-investment structures
- Working with the Capital Formation team to review core fundraising marketing documents and DDQs
- Co-ordinating fund closing processes
- Working closely with internal teams and external advisers on fund legal matters
- Ongoing management of compliance with fund legal documents and assisting on operational questions, including maintenance of investment and exit checklists
- Input on group policies as they relate to funds and compliance with fund legal documents
- Ongoing operation and management of Permira group co-investment and carried interest structures
- Permira/Permira Credit fund General Partner/AIFM governance and board processes
- Monitoring legal costs and tracking against budgets
- Ad hoc group legal issues
Essential Skills and Characteristics
- 3-5 years post qualification experience at a top law firm, ideally in a fund formation group
- Professional, personable and pro-active
- High standard of analytical and organisation skills, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
- Comfortable operating at senior levels and influencing senior management
- Strong communication skills – ability to communicate in an articulate manner (orally and in writing), logically and with confidence and ability to communicate with people
of all levels both inside and outside of the firm - Good relationship building skills
