Functional Analyst - Operations

About the role 

Our team is growing, and we are looking for a motivated and innovative Functional Analyst - Operations who will lead and play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager of Operations in executing governance frameworks, compliance tracking, and cross-functional initiatives. This role is essential for ensuring consistent alignment with internal controls, operational standards, and strategic goals across the organisation. The successful candidate will also contribute to the delivery of special projects that improve operational efficiency and accountability within PayRetailers.

Your responsibilities 

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of governance frameworks and processes across Operations.
  • Track and report on operational KPIs and SLA adherence, highlighting risks or deviations.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering cross-functional special projects related to business optimisation and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, summarising progress, challenges, and mitigation plans.
  • Monitor policy and process compliance, and support internal audits or assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with different departments (Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, etc.) to ensure operational alignment with corporate governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including workflows, policies, and project plans in Confluence or other knowledge management platforms.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in governance, operations, project management, or business analysis.
  • Previous experience in the payments, fintech, or financial services industry is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance practices in financial operations.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project management and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to synthesise complex information into actionable insights.
