About the role:

The DataOps Architect/Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, automating, and optimizing data operations across the enterprise. This position plays a key role in implementing best practices in data integration, deployment, monitoring, and security, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in data operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence:
    Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data pipelines and services using modern DataOps practices.
  • Governance & Monitoring:
    Define, implement, and maintain governance policies for data pipelines and cloud data services. Develop and manage dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to monitor operational performance, job executions, and system reliability.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
    Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve data-related incidents and performance bottlenecks, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
  • Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
    Lead initiatives to adopt industry best practices in data integration, data security, performance optimization, and infrastructure as code.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with software development, cloud infrastructure, and security teams. Provide technical guidance on architectural decisions and process improvements.

 

About you:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering or similar.
  • 4+ years of overall technical experience, including at least 2+ years with a proven track record in DataOps and data engineering
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in designing and deploying CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of cloud data engineering (preferably on Azure) and experience working with tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Event Hub
  • Familiarity with CDC, streaming solutions, and real-time data processing.
  • Expertise in Python and SQL skills.
  • Solid background in building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and practices (e.g., Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana) and logging tools (e.g., Filebeat, Logstash, Vector).
