About the role:
As an Ongoing Due Diligence Analyst you will be working closely with the Head of Compliance and relevant stakeholders, the role is crucial for executing the firm’s strategy in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. A core focus of this position is to conduct ongoing customer due diligence, diligently applying Payhawk’s established Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. This includes thoroughly assessing all documents and information provided in support of customer applications, as well as proactively identifying and addressing fraudulent and suspicious behavior through comprehensive client screening and alert monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively screen active customers to ensure continuous compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Perform ongoing due diligence checks on existing clientele.
- Monitor and meticulously evaluate all customer verification documents.
- Provide support for both initial and ongoing due diligence processes as required, ensuring the completeness and appropriateness of all maintained documentation.
- Conduct thorough PEP (Politically Exposed Persons), Sanctions, and adverse media screenings for all applicants, their associated companies, representatives, and payment beneficiaries.
- Promptly report any information related to potentially fraudulent activity to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
- Review both internal and external screening alerts and escalations, specifically looking for suspicious or fraudulent activity.
- Perform detailed data review and analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain and enhance all internal procedures and processes related to customer due diligence, with a focus on automation where possible to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Payhawk's operational business processes, policies, and systems to ensure seamless integration and execution of compliance functions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of professional experience as an AML (Anti-Money Laundering), Onboarding, Ongoing, and Sanctions Screening Analyst is essential.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills in English are required to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong ownership and an entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with a positive attitude, high energy, and openness to feedback.

- A proactive initiative-taker, capable of initiating projects through innovative ideas that contribute significantly to business objectives.
