What is the role?

We're looking for a People & Talent Coordinator to own and drive our hiring and employee experience across PawaPay. This is a hands-on, generalist role across the entire employee lifecycle. 

You'll run multiple hiring processes end-to-end, manage candidate experience from first interaction through to offer, and own the new hire journey through onboarding and their first 90 days. This role sits at the centre of how we attract, hire, and integrate talent across our global teams.

It's a fast-paced role with a high level of ownership. It requires strong organisational instincts, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts at once. In return, you'll have a real impact in a lean, high-performing team, shaping both the quality of our hiring and the experience of our people.

Your main duties will include:

Recruitment, Talent Coordination & Analytics

  • Manage end-to-end hiring across our global markets, from sourcing through to offer
  • Own and maintain active hiring pipelines, ensuring candidates remain engaged and processes move efficiently
  • Own the candidate experience end-to-end, managing all communication with candidates and ensuring hiring managers are consistently looped in and aligned throughout the process
  • Source talent proactively across multiple channels including direct search, referrals, and job boards, while managing relationships with all external recruitment partners as the primary PawaPay point of contact. 
  • Serve as the primary owner of our ATS (Greenhouse), ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and overall hiring process discipline 
  • Onboard and train new hiring managers on using greenhouse and pawapay’s hiring best practices. 
  • Own recruitment reporting and analytics by tracking and analysing hiring metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Prepare clear, data-driven reports and presentations to support decision-making, and use insights to continuously improve recruitment processes and outcomes

Onboarding & New Hire Experience

  • Own the end-to-end onboarding experience from offer acceptance through to 90 days post-hire, including coordination of all pre-onboarding activities (documentation, reference checks, systems access, benefits, equipment, etc.)
  • Act as the main point of contact for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience
  • Own and continuously improve the 30/60/90-day onboarding journey to support successful integration and long-term impact

People Operations & Culture

  • Own health insurance administration across African markets, including new members enrolment, day-to-day management, and renewals
  • Support people operations processes, documentation, and employee lifecycle activities across internal tools (e.g. HiBob, CultureAmp)
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for company-wide gatherings and team offsites
  • Own quarterly virtual socials and support logistics for internal trainings and company-wide initiatives
  • Contribute to strengthening our remote-first practices and values-driven culture by playing an active role in building a positive and high-performing work environment

You are a perfect fit if you have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in recruitment coordination and people operations roles
  • Proven experience managing multiple hiring processes simultaneously across different roles or teams
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both candidates and internal stakeholders
  • A high level of ownership and accountability, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and getting things done
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, low-structure environment where priorities can shift quickly
  • Experience working with an ATS (ideally Greenhouse) and other HR tools such as HiBob or Culture Amp
  • A data-driven mindset, with the ability to track metrics, spot trends, and use insights to improve processes
