Frontend Engineer (PLG)
Europe
Your main duties will include:
- Develop, test, and deploy merchant-facing features and experiences.
- Proactively participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle — while documenting code and technical decisions clearly.
- Collaborate with PLG, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment between design vision, user experience, and technical implementation — integrating APIs and backend services into the frontend.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, while adhering to frontend best practices and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Carry out code reviews.
- Stay current with frontend trends and technologies, and help shape how we improve our tools and development practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise code to ensure smooth performance and a seamless merchant experience.
You are a perfect fit if you have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Frontend Engineer or similar role in an agile, product-driven environment. Experience in payments, FinTech, or other industries where the frontend handles complex data and reliability is a plus.
- Strong HTML, CSS, and responsive UI skills — with a focus on clean, accessible and scalable code.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as Vue - we use Vue 3 with the Composition API (single-page application) - React, or Angular.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with design systems.
- Experience using modern frontend tooling (e.g. build tools, linters, component libraries) and converting high-fidelity designs into responsive, production-ready components. (we are considering a move to Builder.io, and this role will play a key part in that transition).
- Ability to collaborate closely with design and translate Figma files into polished, production-ready UI.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to read and understand server-side code (we use Java) to support collaboration and debugging.
- Contribute to a culture of autonomy, transparency and reflection — taking ownership of your work and learning from both successes and setbacks.
