About Paloma

Paloma’s mission is to make children’s autism and ADHD assessments and care available on the NHS within 4 weeks of GP referral. We are making this possible by setting a new standard for high-quality autism and ADHD care, building great software & AI tools, and investing in clinicians' learning & development.

Mark and Darshak founded Paloma due to their frustration that families are waiting 4-10 years for NHS children’s autism and ADHD assessments. This crisis in NHS children’s neurodevelopmental services has been highlighted by the Children’s Commissioner for England here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/blog/childrens-commissioner-warns-of-invisible-crisis-as-delays-and-inequalities-laid-bare-among-children-with-neurodevelopmental-conditions/

Since launching, we have:

  • Grown a fantastic team of 120 people, of whom over 80 are clinicians supporting families through their assessment journey.
  • To meet the needs of families, we are recruiting over 100 more people over the next 12 months
  • Raised £5m pre-seed funding from leading healthcare investors (Triple Point Ventures and Heal Capital), helping us to invest in our technology and our team
  • Achieved financial sustainability

How is Paloma Health different from other Neurodevelopmental providers?

  • Our clinical quality: We are clinically led, Care Quality Commission (CQC)- registered, measure our outcomes, and continuously improve our pathway for families and clinicians.
  • Our internal product & engineering team, who build fantastic software to:
    • Give families a fantastic consumer-like experience of healthcare
    • Free our clinicians from documentation to focus on supporting families
  • Our strong culture: including transparency, a sense of community, and supporting staff career development
  • The experience of our founders, Dr Mark Jenkins & Darshak Shah: who have previously built tech-enabled NHS obesity and ophthalmology services. Combined, their previous companies have treated over 1 million NHS patients in the last 15 years!

The opportunity and what you will bring to it

We are looking for a Head of Product to lead the team that designs and delivers our technology-enabled service model. This is not a "classic" product role focused solely on technology. Our product is the end-to-end service, which includes the patient experience, the clinical pathways, and the internal technology and workflows used by our staff.

You won't just be managing software development and optimisation; you will oversee the pathways that sit alongside it. Your goal is to ensure the entire service is optimised for scaling, efficiency, and a smooth experience for both patients and staff, harnessing our technology to do so. This is a role for someone who thrives in a high-growth environment and is ready to establish the operational rigour and product culture necessary to deliver high-quality healthcare at scale.

You will be a hands-on leader for a team of Product Managers, Pathway Managers, and clinical product stakeholders, and be part of Paloma’s Senior Leadership Team. We need a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities while remaining happy to "get into the weeds" and deliver key work personally.

Why is this role different? Rather than building software for external companies, you are building our clinical pathways and core software platform for our internal clinical and operations teams. This means your actions directly help children and families, as well as our clinicians and our operations team, so you can tangibly feel the benefit of your work every day!

Responsibilities:

Leadership and strategy:

  • Line manage and mentor a team of 3 Product Managers, a Pathway Manager, and clinical product stakeholders, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Help develop product strategy as part of the senior leadership team, ensuring the "product" encompasses technology, end-to-end service design, and the internal workflows required to deliver care.
  • Own the quarterly initiative planning process, getting into the granular details with the teams and providing regular narrative updates to the leadership team.
  • Develop the quarterly roadmaps based on agreed initiatives and BAU topics to ensure visibility across the company.

Product excellence:

  • Maintain a high bar for documentation (PRDs, ticket quality, and process mapping) across all P&E squads, auditing as required.
  • Centralise and manage user feedback across our different stakeholder groups, ensuring insights are thematisised, shared with stakeholders, and incorporated into initiative planning.
  • Own business-critical metrics and targets, using in-depth knowledge of our services, internal workflows, and technology to make strategic decisions.
  • Drive team performance by embedding working practices that optimise delivery speed, quality, and stakeholder visibility.

Qualifications and experience:

Required:

  • 5+ years in product leadership positions.
  • 2+ years of managing a product team of 5+ individuals.
  • Developed complex roadmaps and led quarterly initiative planning.
  • Record of delivering results in a scale-up or rapid-growth environment.
  • Led the full lifecycle of product management, including product strategy and hands-on delivery.
  • Designed and implemented scalable user feedback loops.

Desirable:

  • Experience within HealthTech or clinical services is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for delivering clinical services, therapies, or products.
  • Experience managing non-traditional product roles, such as Pathway Managers or clinical stakeholders.

Why join Paloma?

You will be part of a mission-driven organisation that’s transforming access to autism and ADHD care in England. For all employees, we offer:

  • A strong and positive culture that prioritises staff well-being, transparency, and career development. This includes quarterly development conversations and clear career progression pathways.
  • Protected time and budget for team connection, learning, and community-building.
  • Comprehensive compensation, including:
    • Salary of £90,000 per year, with some flexibility based on experience.
    • Annual salary reviews, ensuring they are competitive
    • 5% employer pension contribution
    • Equity compensation through Share Options in Paloma Health
    • Private Medical Insurance
    • Employee Assistance Programme
    • Home Office Equipment Allowance
  • A unique annual leave benefits package which includes:
    • 37 days of annual leave. This is 28 standard days, plus eight bank holidays, plus your birthday off.
    • Option to buy an additional 5 days per year (giving a maximum of 42 days)
    • Where required, 2 days per year of special leave, for events that can happen in life, whether personal or family-related
  • Additional benefits include:
    • A premium performance company laptop
    • NHS discounts, including the Blue Light Card (as we are an NHS provider).
