About Paloma
In 2024, our founders, Mark and Darshak, were shocked to find that children needing an NHS autism or ADHD assessment were waiting 4-10 years for these assessments. Delayed assessments result in children being more likely to develop mental health conditions and fall behind in education. Furthermore, the much-needed pre/post-assessment support (outside of ADHD medications) is typically not funded by the NHS.
These long waits have built up due to increased recognition and understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions and a lack of investment and innovation within the NHS to meet the growing demand.
Mark and Darshak, with their 25 years of combined NHS experience, including building services that have treated over 1,000,000 patients in obesity & ophthalmology, founded Paloma to change this. Our mission is to make NHS autism and ADHD assessments and care accessible within 4 weeks of a GP referral, and, in turn, help every child achieve their potential.
As of May 2026, we have successfully reduced waits to 3 months by;
- Taking a product-first approach to redesign the care pathway to give families a more consumer-like experience of care
- Our in-house product, engineering and AI team building our own autism and ADHD specific electronic patient record and AI documentation tool to free clinicians from their significant documentation burden to re-focus on supporting families
- Investing in expanding the clinician workforce and upskilling them in new ways of working.
We are proud that Paloma is:
- Loved by families, with 4.9 out of 5 Trustpilot and Google ratings
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered and quality-focused
- Clinically-led, with a team of 130 people, including over 80 clinicians supporting families through their assessment journey. We are hiring 100+ more roles over the next 12 months.
- A community of passionate, mission-driven and innovative team members who challenge the status quo and test and learn from new ideas and approaches.
- Backed by leading healthcare investors Triple Point and Heal Capital
What’s next?
- Whilst we have reduced wait times, it is estimated that up to 500,000 children are still waiting for an NHS autism or ADHD assessment. We won’t rest until this comes down.
- We want to build new services to support families and children diagnosed with autism or ADHD who feel lost after their assessments when the NHS is no longer there for them.
The opportunity and what you will bring to it
We are looking for a Head of Product to lead the team that designs and delivers our technology-enabled service model. This is not a "classic" product role focused solely on technology. Our product is the end-to-end service, which includes the patient experience, the clinical pathways, and the internal technology and workflows used by our staff.
You won't just be managing software development and optimisation; you will oversee the pathways that sit alongside it. Your goal is to ensure the entire service is optimised for scaling, efficiency, and a smooth experience for both patients and staff, harnessing our technology to do so. This is a role for someone who thrives in a high-growth environment and is ready to establish the operational rigour and product culture necessary to deliver high-quality healthcare at scale.
You will be a hands-on leader for a team of Product Managers, Pathway Managers, and clinical product stakeholders, and be part of Paloma’s Senior Leadership Team. We need a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities while remaining happy to "get into the weeds" and deliver key work personally.
Why is this role different? Rather than building software for external companies, you are building our clinical pathways and core software platform for our internal clinical and operations teams. This means your actions directly help children and families, as well as our clinicians and our operations team, so you can tangibly feel the benefit of your work every day!
Responsibilities:
Leadership and strategy:
- Line manage and mentor a team of 3 Product Managers, a Pathway Manager, and clinical product stakeholders, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Help develop product strategy as part of the senior leadership team, ensuring the "product" encompasses technology, end-to-end service design, and the internal workflows required to deliver care.
- Own the quarterly initiative planning process, getting into the granular details with the teams and providing regular narrative updates to the leadership team.
- Develop the quarterly roadmaps based on agreed initiatives and BAU topics to ensure visibility across the company.
Product excellence:
- Maintain a high bar for documentation (PRDs, ticket quality, and process mapping) across all P&E squads, auditing as required.
- Centralise and manage user feedback across our different stakeholder groups, ensuring insights are thematisised, shared with stakeholders, and incorporated into initiative planning.
- Own business-critical metrics and targets, using in-depth knowledge of our services, internal workflows, and technology to make strategic decisions.
- Drive team performance by embedding working practices that optimise delivery speed, quality, and stakeholder visibility.
Qualifications and experience:
Required:
- 5+ years in product leadership positions.
- 2+ years of managing a product team of 5+ individuals.
- Developed complex roadmaps and led quarterly initiative planning.
- Record of delivering results in a scale-up or rapid-growth environment.
- Led the full lifecycle of product management, including product strategy and hands-on delivery.
- Designed and implemented scalable user feedback loops.
Desirable:
- Experience within HealthTech or clinical services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for delivering clinical services, therapies, or products.
- Experience managing non-traditional product roles, such as Pathway Managers or clinical stakeholders.
