About Paloma

Paloma’s mission is to make children’s autism and ADHD assessments and care available on the NHS within 4 weeks of GP referral. We are making this possible by setting a new standard for high-quality autism and ADHD care, building great software & AI tools, and investing in clinicians' learning & development.

Mark and Darshak founded Paloma due to their frustration that families are waiting 4-10 years for NHS children’s autism and ADHD assessments. This crisis in NHS children’s neurodevelopmental services has been highlighted by the Children’s Commissioner for England here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/blog/childrens-commissioner-warns-of-invisible-crisis-as-delays-and-inequalities-laid-bare-among-children-with-neurodevelopmental-conditions/

Since launching, we have:

  • Grown a fantastic team of 120 people, of whom over 80 are clinicians supporting families through their assessment journey.
  • To meet the needs of families, we are recruiting over 100 more people over the next 12 months
  • Raised £5m pre-seed funding from leading healthcare investors (Triple Point Ventures and Heal Capital), helping us to invest in our technology and our team
  • Achieved financial sustainability

How is Paloma Health different from other Neurodevelopmental providers?

  • Our clinical quality: We are clinically led, Care Quality Commission (CQC)- registered, measure our outcomes, and continuously improve our pathway for families and clinicians.
  • Our internal product & engineering team, who build fantastic software to:
    • Give families a fantastic consumer-like experience of healthcare
    • Free our clinicians from documentation to focus on supporting families
  • Our strong culture: including transparency, a sense of community, and supporting staff career development
  • The experience of our founders, Dr Mark Jenkins & Darshak Shah, who have previously built tech-enabled NHS obesity and ophthalmology services. Combined, their previous companies have treated over 1 million NHS patients in the last 15 years!

The Opportunity

Why is this role different? Rather than building software for external companies, you are building our core software platform for our internal clinical and operations teams. This means your actions directly help children and families, as well as our clinicians and our operations team, so you can tangibly feel the benefit of your work every day!

As Product Manager, you’ll be a key member of the Product & Engineering team, driving the smooth delivery and ongoing optimisation of our platform and operational infrastructure. This role focuses on the "engine" of Paloma—the internal systems, booking platforms, third-party integrations, and automation orchestration that allow our clinical service to scale.

On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with our engineering team and our wider product, clinical, and operations teams to execute and deliver our product initiatives. As Paloma continues to grow, we are formalising our Product & Engineering squads. You will be responsible for the health, rhythm, and output of your squad, leading agile ceremonies and ensuring that technical execution aligns perfectly with our operational needs.

You will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of product delivery, fostering clear communication, and driving continuous improvement in our development processes. You will have many growth opportunities, up to a senior manager role and beyond, as we scale.

Responsibilities

Analysis and planning

  • Work closely with clinical and operations teams to translate complex service requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for new features and system improvements.
  • Conduct detailed discoveries with high-quality outputs.
  • Analyse product performance metrics and gather user feedback for continuous improvement

Leadership

  • Run the day-to-day operations of a Product & Engineering squad, leading all agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives).

Delivery:

  • Utilise data to inform decision-making, prioritisation, and the measurement of feature impact.
  • Support quality assurance and user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Manage release notes and internal training to ensure the wider team is empowered to use new platform features.
  • Constantly look for patterns, inefficiencies, or bugs, and fix them before they become problems.

What qualities will you bring to the role?

  • A passion for healthcare/healthtech and supporting the needs of our families.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles.
  • Naturally data-driven, investigating issues methodically and not settling for surface-level fixes.
  • You enjoy the "how it works" as much as the "what it does"—you find satisfaction in building efficient, invisible systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a love for well-defined processes.
  • Highly efficient and organised, with a proactive approach to managing tasks and information.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
  • A pragmatic and realistic approach to planning, execution, and delivering results.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, ready to jump into any task.

What qualifications and experience will you bring?

Required prior experience:

  • 2+ years in a Product Manager role in a high-growth, fast-paced, product-led organisation.
  • Directly leading squads and running sprint ceremonies alongside engineering teams.
  • Owning the product lifecycle from initial concept to launch, ongoing optimisation, and measuring outcomes.
  • Data analysis, A/B testing, and iterative product development.

Desirable prior experience:

  • Working within the healthcare/healthtech sector.
  • Building or managing internal operational products (e.g., booking engines, CRM workflows, or resource management platforms).
  • AI/ML product initiatives.
  • Formal qualifications or training in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner certifications).
  • Technical background (e.g., computer science degree, scripting, or systems ops experience)

Why join Paloma?

You will be part of a mission-driven organisation that’s transforming access to autism and ADHD care in England. For all employees, we offer:

  • A strong and positive culture that prioritises staff well-being, transparency, and career development. This includes quarterly development conversations and clear career progression pathways.
