About Paloma

Paloma’s mission is to make children’s autism and ADHD assessments and care available on the NHS within 4 weeks of GP referral. We believe the NHS can offer quick access to these services, and Paloma is achieving this by redesigning care pathways, building new software & AI tools, and investing in the learning & development of clinicians.

Mark and Darshak founded Paloma as they were frustrated that families are waiting 2-10 years for NHS children’s autism and ADHD assessments. This crisis in NHS children’s neurodevelopmental services has recently been highlighted by the Children’s Commissioner for England here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/blog/childrens-commissioner-warns-of-invisible-crisis-as-delays-and-inequalities-laid-bare-among-children-with-neurodevelopmental-conditions/

We are growing our team purposefully to meet the need for NHS autism and ADHD care, and since launching, we have:

  • Grown our fantastic team to 90 people, and are hiring ~100 more over the next 12 months
  • Raised £5m pre-seed funding from leading healthcare investors (Triple Point Ventures and Heal Capital), helping us to invest in our technology and our team
  • Achieved financial sustainability

How is Paloma Health different from other Neurodevelopmental providers?

  • We are clinically-led, Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered, and continuously improve our outcomes and family experiences.
  • Our in-house product & engineering team ensures we can:
    • Give families a more consumer-like experience of healthcare
    • Free our clinicians from documentation to focus on supporting families
  • Our strong culture, including transparency, a sense of community, and supporting staff career development
  • The experience of our founders (Dr Mark Jenkins & Darshak Shah), who have previously built tech-enabled NHS obesity and ophthalmology services. Combined, their previous companies have treated over 1 million NHS patients in the last 15 years!
  • Being backed by leading healthcare investors allows us to move fast

The Opportunity

You will support Paloma Health’s mission by ensuring data accuracy and compliance across all statutory and commercial reporting requirements. This role directly impacts our ability to scale services for children and families requiring autism and ADHD assessments.

You will work as a member of the Data & Analytics team, delivering:

  • A reliable source of high-quality, validated KPI data for monthly/quarterly NHS submissions.
  • Data validation and preparation to support internal business cases and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Designing and maintaining scalable reporting infrastructure that streamlines data delivery to internal stakeholders and external NHS partners.
  • Strategic support for the BI Analyst in shaping reporting pipelines.

About you

You are driven, highly data-literate, and able to thrive in an evolving, mission-led environment, comfortably engaging clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders to ensure reporting compliance and data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and validate data feeds for mandatory national datasets, including monthly contributions to the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS), ensuring submission compliance.
  • Generate accurate monthly and quarterly activity reports for ICBs, adhering strictly to pre-defined templates, data governance standards, and delivery cadences.
  • Support the compilation of contract performance reports, focusing on key metrics such as waiting times, patient flow, and service completion volumes for audit purposes.
  • Perform data cleaning, standardisation, and rigorous validation checks within the data pipeline to ensure end-to-end data quality prior to reporting.
  • Design and maintain scalable reporting templates for ad-hoc requests, leveraging advanced formulas to support self-service analytics.
  • Respond promptly to ad-hoc data requests from commercial and operational stakeholders, providing timely data extraction and variance analysis (delta reporting).
  • Proactively monitor reports and dashboards to identify and resolve data gaps, inconsistencies and errors.

Qualifications and experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics).
  • SQL Proficiency: Foundational knowledge of SQL is essential. Familiarity with Google BigQuery is highly desirable.
  • Spreadsheet Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, including the use of complex functions for reporting (VLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, IMPORTRANGE).
  • Analytical Focus: A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to data collection and quality assurance, with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills, necessary for articulating data findings and engaging internal operational teams.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the NHS structure (ICBs/ICSs) or prior exposure to healthcare data.
  • Experience using a BI visualisation tool like Looker Studio (Data Studio).
