About Paloma

We aim to provide families with high-quality NHS neurodevelopmental assessments within 4 weeks of GP referral.

Our children and young people’s autism assessments went live in November 2024, and we are launching children’s ADHD assessments and treatment in early 2026.

We were founded as we are frustrated that families are waiting 2-10 years for NHS children’s autism and ADHD assessments, and this crisis has recently been highlighted by the Children’s Commissioner for England: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/blog/childrens-commissioner-warns-of-invisible-crisis-as-delays-and-inequalities-laid-bare-among-children-with-neurodevelopmental-conditions/

How is Paloma different?

  • We are clinically led and Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered, with a friendly and approachable team
  • We have built our own software platform to:
    • Give our families a more consumer-like experience of healthcare
    • Free our assessors from documentation to focus on supporting families
  • Our strong culture, including transparency, a sense of community, and supporting staff career development
  • The experience of our founders (Dr Mark Jenkins & Darshak Shah), who have previously built tech-enabled NHS obesity and ophthalmology services. Combined, their previous companies have treated over 1 million NHS patients in the last 15 years!
  • Being backed by leading healthcare investors (Triple Point Ventures and Heal Capital), allowing us to move fast.

The Opportunity

The Product Manager will partner with our VP Product and VP Engineering to drive the smooth delivery of our Paloma Operating System (PalomaOS) software product development.

On a day to day basis you will work closely with our engineering team, and our wider, product, clinical, and operations teams to execute and deliver our product initiatives. These initiatives will ensure that the PalomaOS supports our assessor team and the families we care for to have the best possible experience with Paloma Health.

You will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of product delivery, fostering clear communication, and driving continuous improvement in our development processes. As the first product manager to join the team, you will have a lot of opportunity for growth to senior manager and beyond as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with a range of stakeholders to understand complex topics and PalomaOS requirements.
  • Utilise data to inform decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Craft detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for new features.
  • Lead agile ceremonies including sprints, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Support quality assurance and user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Analyse product performance metrics and gather user feedback for continuous improvement
  • Maintain high quality and standardised documentation such as tickets, release notes and product requirement documents.
  • Conduct detailed discoveries with high quality outputs.
  • Manage communication (and training where needed) to teams regarding upcoming releases.
  • Champion efficient processes, maintaining meticulous attention to detail and ensuring smooth workflows within the product development lifecycle.
  • Constantly look for patterns, inefficiencies, or bugs, and fix them before they become problems.

What qualities will you bring to the role?

  • A passion for healthcare/healthtech and supporting the needs of our families.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Naturally data-driven, investigating issues methodically and not settling for surface-level fixes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a love for well-defined processes.
  • Highly efficient and organised, with a proactive approach to managing tasks and information.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
  • A pragmatic and realistic approach to planning, execution, and delivering results.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, ready to jump into any task.

What qualifications and experience will you bring?

Required prior experience:

  • 2-4 years in a Product Manager role in a high-growth, fast-paced, product-led organisation.
  • Leading sprint ceremonies in a squad and with an engineering team.
  • Owning the product lifecycle from initial concept to launch, ongoing optimisation, and measuring outcomes.
  • Data analysis, A/B testing, and iterative product development.

Desirable prior experience:

  • Working within the healthcare/healthtech sector.
  • Replatforming projects and/or AI/ML product initiatives.
  • Formal qualifications or training in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner certifications).
  • Technical background (e.g. computer science degree, scripting, or systems ops experience)
  • Comfortable writing and debugging basic SQL queries.
