What you will do
As a Senior M&A Data Specialist, you will empower our decision-making process by delivering insightful data analysis tailored to M&A activities. The three pillars of this role are: requirements gathering, conducting in-depth data analysis, and guiding the business in understanding insights from the data through effective data visualization.
Where you will have impact
- Conduct in-depth data analysis using SQL and/or python and Excel as part of the due diligence and data migration processes during M&A activities.
- Develop and maintain robust data models to support the analysis and interpretation of complex M&A data.
- Collaborate with team members through version control and peer reviews, ensuring high-quality data analysis and interpretation.
- Gather and interpret requirements from various internal business units (M&A, Finance, Legal, Strategy, etc.) involved in the acquisition process.
- Translate complex M&A business requirements into thorough, insightful data analyses that inform strategic decisions.
- Maintain and expand our data catalogue with a focus on M&A related data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during data migrations.
- Guide analysts and business users in identifying relevant data points and metrics to track M&A progress and outcomes, using data visualization tools like Looker.
- Enable teams to explore M&A-related data marts in a self-service manner, fostering a data-driven culture.
- Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies to ensure we remain a fast-moving technology adopter in the M&A space.
About our team
Within this role you will be part of the Data & Analytics, specifically within the Strategic Analytics pillar. We are a central pillar of our operations at Lighthouse, managing a vast array of data assets and driving strategic decisions across the organization. We handle millions of data points daily, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to unlock new directions for our internal processes and functions.
Our responsibilities include:
- Enhancing Data Usability: We optimize the actionability of our data assets to empower stakeholders.
- Supporting Leadership: We provide critical insights that assist our leaders in making data-driven decisions.
- Uncovering Insights: We analyze customers' commercial behavior to drive commercial strategies.
- Developing Definitions & KPIs: We collaborate with various teams to create metrics for strategic decision-making.
- Ensuring Data Reliability: We maintain data integrity during due diligence and M&A projects.
We work closely with the Internal Data Warehousing Team, responsible for maintaining efficient data infrastructure, ensuring data integrity, providing data support, and automating data workflows. Who you are
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a data professional, preferably with a focus on M&A activities.
- Proficient in writing highly-performant SQL queries and python scripts for analysis.
- Strong understanding and experience in data analysis, preferably in an M&A context.
- Experience in stakeholder management and requirement gathering.
- Proficient in visualizing datasets using BI tools (such as Looker, Tableau, Mode, PowerBI, etc.)
- Experience with ELT/ETL tools (such as Fivetran, Stitch, etc.) and data transformation tools (like dbt, etc.)
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, any other language used within our company network is a plus.
