Role
We’re a fast-growing tech company currently expanding across Europe. To strengthen our Finance team, we’re looking for a Financial Accountant who will take ownership of accounting and compliance processes for several of our entities.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our CFO as well as external partners such as auditors, tax advisors, and local accounting firms. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, reviewing general ledger activity, and supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements. You will have the opportunity to assess complex transactions, provide guidance on accounting treatment, and actively contribute to improving processes as we continue to scale. This is a hands-on role in a small but high-performing team, ideal for someone who enjoys both operational detail and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic international environment.
What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for several group entities
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support month-end and year-end closings and prepare relevant reports
- Coordinate with external accounting providers, auditors, and tax advisors
- Ensure timely and compliant statutory filings across different jurisdictions
- Contribute to process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives
- Support integration of newly acquired companies into the group’s financial processes
About You
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in an international or group environment
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (local GAAP / HGB)
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on mentality
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (C1+)
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving organization
Nice‑to‑haves
- Experience working with DATEV, including financial accounting, asset accounting, and tax-related processes.
- Strong MS Excel skills, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and automation features
- Solid understanding of relevant tax regulations, particularly in the areas of VAT and corporate tax.
- High affinity for digital accounting and process automation, ideally with experience in cloud-based finance tools or workflow optimization.
