Remote / Berlin

3D Motion Designer (Product Video & Documentation)

Company

Orcrist is building a next generation data intelligence platform using cutting-edge technologies. We're handling petabyte-scale data with sub-second queries. Our product is a Kubernetes‑based platform delivered as B2B SaaS or as a self‑hosted on‑prem solution, including air‑gapped deployments. We enable customers across defense, law enforcement, and enterprise to turn mission-critical data into actionable intelligence.

Role

We’re looking for a senior 3D Motion Designer to own product and documentation video for the data platform. You will lead the end-to-end pipeline for videos that explain complex capabilities to customers and decision makers – from top-of-funnel explainers to in-depth feature walkthroughs and tutorials. The position can be part-time or full-time (24–40h/week), remote in Germany with a hybrid option in Berlin. The focus is on production craft and product clarity – no social media management, livestreams, or webinars.

What you'll do

  • Own the full video pipeline from brief to final delivery.
  • Create 3D animations that integrate with real product UI footage.
  • Capture high-quality, secure screen recordings of the platform.
  • Define motion standards, templates, and reusable asset libraries.
  • Plan timelines, run reviews, and secure stakeholder sign-off.

About You

  • 5+ years creating product videos for complex software.
  • Strong in After Effects and Cinema 4D or Blender (and modern renderers).
  • Solid editing skills in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Comfortable writing scripts and voiceover text yourself.
  • Self-directed, communicative, and careful with data security and NDAs.

Nice‑to‑haves

  • Experience with Unreal Engine or real-time visualization.
  • Experience with music, sound effects, and basic audio sweetening.
  • Work with synthetic or redacted datasets for safe demos.
  • Built motion style guides or motion systems for products.
  • German language skills and familiarity with subtitle tools (B2+).

What We Offer

  • Clear ownership of all product and documentation video for the data intelligence platform.
  • Direct impact on how customers, stakeholders, and decision makers understand and adopt the product.
  • Remote‑first in Germany with occasional team events in Berlin.
  • Home office budget and great equipment.
  • 30 days vacation.
  • Direct impact on critical missions across private and public‑sector customers.
