Content Marketing Executive
Our Mission
At Ophelos, we believe in a different way to deal with debt. One that puts empathy and understanding front and centre, approaching our customers as individuals — no matter what they’re going through.
For too long, people in debt have borne the brunt of poor industry practices. Intimidating tactics, time-consuming customer service and a one-size-fits-all approach that overlooks the reasons anyone can fall into debt in the first place. Meanwhile, businesses suffer too. Poor customer experience translates to poor customer satisfaction, high churn rates, bad brand reputation and ultimately missed opportunities.
That’s why we’re taking a radically different approach. Pioneering an industry-first AI-native collections platform, we build products that help individuals clear their debts in a way that suits them, whilst providing businesses with an improved customer experience and game-changing insights into their customer base.
Since our launch in 2021, we’ve worked with some of the UK’s leading companies, including Octopus, Scottish Power and Philips — helping millions of people move toward a more stable, debt-free future. In 2023, we were acquired by Intrum, Europe’s biggest credit management service and have begun the next phase in our growth — expansion into 17 European markets over the next two years.
The Role - Content Marketing Executive
Words really matter at Ophelos. We work in a heavily stigmatised industry, where customers are often made to feel ashamed of their financial situation. What we say, and how we say it, is a huge part of what sets us apart.
As we expand into new European markets, we’re looking for an exceptional Content Marketing Executive to take a leading role in owning our copy across multiple channels. Working directly with our Content Marketing Manager, we’re looking for someone who can infuse their writing with empathy and warmth, transform technical jargon into engaging narratives and elevate our brand for both our customers and clients.
Ophelos is an AI-native platform, meaning we build from the ground up with artificial intelligence at the core of our product and operations. We’re working in a really exciting space where a lot of our tech is a first for the industry, and much of your work will focus on these AI breakthroughs. This will be a varied role spanning short form and long form, UK and EU markets. There will be a mix of B2B and B2C with most focus on B2B We’re looking for someone who’s keen to get stuck in quickly, work autonomously, and bring new ideas to the table.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Write with flair across B2B blog posts, thought leadership pieces, case studies, whitepapers, one pagers, press releases, the website and social media content.
- Collaborate closely with our Content Marketing Manager to build up Ophelos’ online brand presence.
- Team up with the data and engineering teams to bring their work to life across written content and product demos.
- Manage the content calendar and schedule publishing across different channels.
- Feedback both internally and externally, focussing on data-backed proactive solutions.
- Promote our company vision: a world where everyone is financially educated, empowered and equal.
About you
We believe that no one is the finished article, however, some experience in the following is important for this role:
- You’re a magician with a pen and have 2+ years of experience in a writing-focused marketing position.
- You’re a self-starter, looking to take on a role where you take ownership of the content function (you’ll also get support from our Content Marketing Manager).
- You’re interested in financial wellbeing and AI - you don’t have to have experience in either sector, though it’s a plus.
- You steer well away from jargon-heavy, cookie-cutter copywriting. And you value concise language over long, flowery sentences.
- You’re a proactive problem solver, who is organised and able to communicate issues internally and externally.
- You’re able to move to fast deadlines and prioritise ruthlessly - we’re still a startup!
- You are excited about Ophelos’ mission to support households and businesses to break the vicious debt cycle.
