Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Energy System Modeler who is confident with open-source software development. This role is pivotal in developing and refining energy system models that simulate the behavior and integration of various energy sources. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in energy systems analysis and a proven track record of open-source development experience to deliver insightful, data-driven results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy System Modeling: Development of energy models for scenario simulation.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gathering and analyzing energy-related data.
  • Policy Impact Assessment: Evaluating and advising on energy policies.
  • Scenario Development: Creating and testing energy demand and supply scenarios.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Contributing to internal and external workshops and discussions.
  • Environmental Impact Analysis: Assessing the sustainability of energy systems.
  • Technical Reporting: Documenting methodologies, findings, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy system modelling using code-centric energy modelling frameworks like PyPSA, GenX, Sienna or alike.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex datasets and perform detailed energy system analyses.
  • Strong track record of leading projects and delivering actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical details to diverse audiences.
