Partnerships Associate

London

The Company

Octopus Legacy is the place to plan for death and find support after loss.

Having been on our own startup journey, Octopus Group recently bought a stake in our company to supercharge our growth, and now we’re one of the fastest growing companies within the UK’s most exciting group (you may have heard of some of our sister companies…)

With our new brand, the Octopus platform at our disposal and a Top Secret plan to achieve radical scale we’re already transforming the way that people experience the process of planning for and dealing with death.

We’ve assembled a crack team to prepare us for that scale, and you could be the missing piece we’re looking for!

The Role

Throughout our journey from a small but driven team to our acquisition by Octopus and subsequent rebranding, charities have been at the heart of our core business. Today, they continue to be longstanding, passionate partners. With over 250 clients in the third sector, we are proud to support legacy fundraising - an essential income source for charities, making up approximately one-third of their donations. As we grow, we are seeking a dynamic Sales Executive to join our closely-knit team of five.

As a Partnerships Associate, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission to support UK charities with their legacy fundraising programs. In this role, you’ll be managing the entire 360 sales process, from prospecting and cold outreach to booking meetings, running product demos, and guiding clients through the buying journey all the way to contract signing. You will also represent Octopus Legacy at events, conferences, webinars, and award ceremonies, becoming a respected and approachable face of our company in the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a full-cycle sales process, including lead generation, cold outreach, and meetings with prospective charity partners.
  • Deliver tailored demos of our legacy fundraising solutions and articulate the value proposition to charity leaders.
  • Build and nurture relationships with charities, becoming a trusted advisor to support their fundraising goals.
  • Assist in marketing efforts, including attending and representing the company at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing support for charity clients.
  • Contribute to growing our charity partnerships, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner and helping us become the market leader for legacy fundraising solutions in the third sector.

Who Are You?

You want to work at a startup and you’ll thrive in a fast paced environment. You have a personal growth mentality, with a hunger to learn. Autonomy doesn't scare you, and being self-sufficient and happy to come up with solutions to problems on your own is attractive to you.

  • Experience in B2B sales, ideally with some exposure to or a passion for the charity or third sector.
  • A consultative sales approach, with the ability to understand clients’ needs and offer solutions that provide real value.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to deliver presentations and run demos independently.
  • A passion for charitable causes, with a desire to be part of an industry that’s making a real difference in the world.
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
  • Have buckets of energy and are eager to learn.

Our Mission

When people think about planning for death they think about wills, life insurance and funerals. We take these cold processes and turn them into something more human. Share more than money: leave voice notes, music, recipes. Shape a legacy that connects you while you're here. And after you're gone.

Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.

Death can come between us, leave mess, legal fees, frustration. But it can also make us stronger. We see a world where people talk openly about death, and work out the real meaning of legacy, one that connects to them. We’re here to make that world happen
