Location: Remote (Europe) / Horgen, Switzerland / United Kingdom

Reporting to: SVP Development Operations

 

Company Context

Numab Therapeutics AG is a Swiss‑headquartered biotechnology company based in Horgen, Zurich canton, dedicated to developing multi‑specific antibody‑based immunotherapies for cancer and inflammation. Using its proprietary λ‑Cap™ and MATCH™ technology platforms, Numab designs and engineers multi‑specific antibodies that combine best‑in‑class potency, stability, and pharmacokinetic properties.

The company has built a broad and differentiated pipeline of in‑house programs across immunology and oncology, and has established multiple collaborations with leading global pharmaceutical partners—underlining the scalability and external validation of its platform and business model. In 2024 the company completed a major transaction with Johnson & Johnson through the sale of its subsidiary (Yellow Jersey Therapeutics) which included rights to NM26‑2198 in a deal valued at approximately USD 1.25 billion. In early 2025, the Series C fundraising was extended to CHF 180 million to support several first- and best-in-class programs.

With a headcount of around 80 employees, Numab now enters an exciting phase of development. 

Role Purpose

The Vice President, Medical will play a dual role spanning Clinical Development and Medical Affairs.

Internally, they will provide medical leadership for the ongoing development of Numab's IBD programme, contributing to clinical strategy, trial design, data interpretation, and development planning. A key focus will be helping shape the design of early phase studies in patients and identifying innovative approaches that maximize the opportunity to demonstrate meaningful clinical differentiation in a competitive therapeutic landscape.

Externally, they will establish and maintain trusted relationships with leading experts in IBD and related fields, helping ensure that Numab's science, data, and therapeutic approach are understood within the broader context of disease biology and evolving treatment paradigms. The individual will serve as a credible scientific ambassador for the company and play an important role in shaping external scientific dialogue surrounding both the programme and the future role of tri-specific antibodies in IBD.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Development

  • Contribute to the overall clinical development strategy for Numab's IBD programme.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Operations, Translational Medicine, Regulatory Affairs, and Executive Leadership to advance development plans.
  • Provide medical leadership and strategic input into Phase IIb study design and future development strategy.
  • Identify creative and scientifically rigorous approaches to trial design, endpoint selection, patient segmentation, biomarker integration, and evidence generation.
  • Incorporate insights from clinical practice, scientific experts, and the competitive landscape to optimize development plans.
  • Evaluate emerging clinical and translational data and provide strategic recommendations to guide programme decisions.
  • Contribute to protocol development, protocol amendments, investigator-facing scientific materials, and study governance discussions.
  • Support benefit-risk assessment and interpretation of efficacy and safety findings throughout development.

Medical Affairs & External Scientific Leadership

  • Lead external scientific engagement activities for Numab's IBD programme.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, academic experts, and scientific societies.
  • Facilitate scientific exchange regarding disease biology, treatment paradigms, emerging evidence, and the potential role of novel therapeutic approaches in IBD.
  • Help establish and communicate the scientific narrative surrounding Numab's programme and its differentiated therapeutic approach.
  • Generate external insights that inform development strategy, evidence generation plans, and future positioning.
  • Represent Numab at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and other external forums.
  • Contribute to publications, scientific communications, and educational initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted scientific representative for the company with clinical, scientific, and investment stakeholders.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • MD or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Significant experience within biotechnology or pharmaceutical drug development.
  • Deep expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, with an established reputation and network within the IBD community.
  • Experience spanning both Medical Affairs and Clinical Development.
  • Strong understanding of inflammatory pathways, disease pathophysiology, biologic therapies, and evolving treatment approaches in IBD.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to clinical study design, development strategy, and interpretation of clinical data.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence scientific discussions with external experts through credible, evidence-based scientific exchange.
