Principal Engineer, Low Voltage Deployment, AMERS
About Nscale
Nscale is the vertically integrated AI cloud engineered for AI. We own and operate the full stack — energy, data centers, GPU superclusters, orchestration, and AI services — delivering high-performance infrastructure to AI-native companies, enterprises, and governments across Europe and the US. We are deploying GPU capacity at hyperscale, operating some of the densest, most advanced AI infrastructure in the world.
At Nscale, our Low Voltage Deployment team plays a critical role in turning design intent into live AI infrastructure, making sure every fiber, cable, and pathway is delivered safely, on schedule, and to standard. We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.
About the Role
We're looking for a field-focused technical leader to own low-voltage execution across Nscale's AI and GPU data center deployments. This role sits at the intersection of deployment engineering, field project management, vendor leadership, and cross-functional delivery. The Principal Low Voltage Deployment Engineer translates design intent into safe, high-quality field execution and drives low-voltage infrastructure from readiness through acceptance and turnover.
You'll thrive in this role if you are:
- A field leader. You are comfortable owning execution where the work is happening.
- A technical problem solver. You can move between drawings, fiber testing, vendor execution, and project constraints.
- An owner. You identify gaps early and drive them through resolution.
- A cross-functional operator. You build alignment across teams without relying on direct authority.
- A builder. You enjoy creating repeatable standards and improving how future deployments are delivered.
What You'll be Doing
Low Voltage Delivery & Execution
- Own low-voltage deployment execution from site readiness through installation, testing, acceptance, and turnover.
- Oversee fiber, copper, structured cabling, pathways, containment, patching, labeling, and associated infrastructure supporting high-density AI environments.
- Use approved designs, LLDs, cable schedules, rack elevations, and Nscale standards to verify onsite implementation.
- Maintain visibility into field blockers, dependencies, and readiness gaps, and drive them to resolution.
Vendor & Field Leadership
- Serve as a primary Nscale technical and field interface for low-voltage contractors, integrators, and deployment partners.
- Drive vendor performance across staffing, schedule, quality, productivity, testing, remediation, and deliverables.
- Lead onsite coordination and hold partners accountable to approved scope, milestones, and quality expectations.
- Build trusted working relationships with vendors, construction teams, network teams, and project stakeholders.
Technical Leadership & Quality
- Bring credible technical judgment to design, constructability, readiness, and deployment reviews.
- Lead QA/QC activities covering routing, labeling, polarity, fiber cleanliness, bend radius, cable management, termination, patching, and workmanship.
- Review fiber and copper test results and certification documentation, including OLTS and OTDR where required.
- Drive punch-list remediation, final acceptance, and lessons learned while identifying recurring issues and preventative solutions.
Program & Cross-Functional Execution
- Manage schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and multiple concurrent low-voltage workstreams.
- Partner closely with Network Infrastructure, Construction, AI Infrastructure Deployment, Engineering, Commissioning, Operations, Supply Chain, and other teams.
- Translate field and technical complexity into concise status, risk, decision, and escalation updates.
- Help develop repeatable deployment methods, standards, SOWs, vendor requirements, and operating practices as the Low Voltage Deployment organization scales.
About You
- Proven experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, network infrastructure, data center construction, deployment engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex field deployments and managing third-party vendors or contractors.
- Strong working knowledge of fiber-optic and copper infrastructure, installation practices, testing, and quality requirements.
- Ability to interpret LLDs, construction drawings, rack elevations, cable schedules, port maps, and technical deployment documentation.
- Experience managing project schedules, risks, dependencies, punch lists, and cross-functional execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage field teams, engineers, project leaders, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to travel 50% or more, with significant onsite presence during active deployment phases based on project needs.
Nice to Have
- Experience in hyperscale, cloud, HPC, or AI data center environments.
Why this role matters
Low-voltage infrastructure is the connective tissue of every AI supercluster Nscale brings online. The fiber and cabling you deliver determine how quickly GPU capacity reaches our customers and how reliably it performs once it's live. As one of the senior technical leaders in a growing Low Voltage Deployment organization, you'll also shape the standards, vendor requirements, and playbooks that every future Nscale deployment is built on.
