AMER

About Nscale

Nscale is the vertically integrated AI cloud engineered for AI. We own and operate the full stack — energy, data centres, GPU superclusters, orchestration, and AI services — delivering high-performance infrastructure to AI-native companies, enterprises, and governments across Europe and the US. We are deploying GPU capacity at hyperscale, operating some of the densest, most advanced AI infrastructure in the world.

At Nscale, our Controls & Networks team delivers the control systems and networks that keep our data centers running safely and reliably, from BMS, EPMS, and SCADA to OT, security, and corporate IT networks. We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.

About the Role

As Project Director, SCADA Facility Controls (AMER), you'll lead delivery of Nscale's Americas controls and network portfolio across data center development, construction, commissioning, and early operations. Reporting to the VP, Controls & Networks, you'll lead the AMER project management team and own regional delivery outcomes, balancing portfolio leadership with hands-on delivery of our most critical projects.

You'll work closely with Design & Construction, site and operations teams, global technical SMEs, commissioning partners, system integrators, OEMs, and contractors. This is a delivery leadership role: you'll ensure AMER projects execute approved controls, OT network, security network, and corporate IT network requirements, while technical standards and architecture decisions are governed with our global SMEs and the VP.

You will:

- Set clear priorities and develop a strong, resilient bench of Project Managers.
- Personally lead critical projects when it matters most.
- Move projects from design through handover with disciplined control of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder commitments.
- Keep leadership informed with clear status reporting, decision requests, and transparent escalation.

Experience required: 12+ years of progressive project, program, construction, engineering, or operations delivery experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or similarly complex technical environments.

What You'll be Doing

- Own AMER Controls & Networks delivery outcomes across active sites and the regional pipeline, spanning controls, BMS/EPMS, SCADA, OT networks, telemetry integration, and construction delivery of Security and Corporate IT networks where assigned.
- Lead, coach, and develop AMER Project Managers and project delivery resources, including performance management, capacity planning, and clear accountabilities.
- Set regional priorities and resource assignments across concurrent projects, balancing commissioning-critical work, design and procurement gates, construction needs, and early-operations support.
- Run the AMER delivery cadence, including weekly project and portfolio reviews, focused recovery sessions for at-risk work, and monthly portfolio reporting to the VP, Controls & Networks.
- Maintain an accurate regional portfolio view covering scope, milestones, budget, risks, dependencies, decisions, resource demand, and required executive actions.
- Personally lead complex, high-risk, or strategically important projects when needed, while providing escalation support and practical direction to Project Managers.
- Ensure every project has an integrated delivery plan from design through commissioning and operational handover, with clear ownership of engineering deliverables, procurement, construction, testing, training, documentation, and closeout.
- Partner with Design & Construction leadership, general contractors, site teams, and commissioning agents to align controls and network work with overall project schedules, installation sequencing, site access, and readiness milestones.
- Drive resolution of cross-functional blockers such as incomplete design inputs, long-lead equipment, contractor interfaces, site-readiness constraints, commissioning dependencies, and third-party commitments.
- Uphold strong project controls, including schedules, RAID logs, decision logs, change control, cost tracking, and executive-ready reporting, and sponsor decisive corrective action when recovery plans fall short.
- Lead key delivery gates and readiness reviews, including design reviews, FAT/CAT, SAT, commissioning, turnover, and the post-go-live stability period.
- Hold contractors, integrators, vendors, and internal owners accountable for agreed milestones, quality, documentation, punch-list closure, and operational handover requirements.
- Partner with global SCADA, OT Network, MEP/Mechanical Integration, Controls, Systems, and Commissioning SMEs to bring timely technical review to AMER projects, and escalate proposed standards deviations through governance before field execution proceeds.
- Ensure projects adopt approved Nscale standards, reference architectures, alarm and telemetry requirements, and documentation practices.
- Coordinate the regional NOC interface so project deliverables support safe operational monitoring, alarming, telemetry, documentation, and handover.
- Ensure approved Security and Corporate IT network designs are converted into contractor scope, installed, verified, and handed over, while respecting the design authority and operational ownership of the CISO organization and Corporate IT.
- Own regional performance against the Controls & Networks scorecard, including design readiness, vendor integration first-pass success, commissioning schedule adherence, post-go-live stability, standards adoption, and issue resolution.
- Use delivery data, site experience, and lessons learned to improve forecast accuracy, contractor performance, capacity planning, delivery playbooks, and repeatability across the AMER portfolio.
- Support regional contractor and supplier relationships, including performance reviews, constructability feedback, framework agreements, catalogue adoption, strategic spares, and repeatable delivery methods.
- Build trusted relationships with site leadership, Operations, Design & Construction, IT, Security, technical SMEs, customers, and partners, keeping decisions visible and resolving conflicts at the right level.

About You

- Experience: 12+ years of progressive project, program, construction, engineering, or operations delivery experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial infrastructure, energy, utilities, or similarly complex technical environments.
- Portfolio and people leadership: Demonstrated experience leading multi-project portfolios and managing Project Managers or delivery teams, with accountability for schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholder outcomes.
- Construction and commissioning coordination: Strong experience coordinating construction, commissioning, technical vendors, system integrators, and cross-functional engineering and operations stakeholders.
- Data center systems knowledge: Working understanding of data center infrastructure delivery and the controls and network systems that support it, such as BMS, EPMS, SCADA, OT networks, telemetry, critical power, and cooling.
- Project governance: Proven capability with integrated schedules, cost and change control, RAID management, executive reporting, commercial awareness, and structured issue escalation.
- Judgment and communication: Able to make sound prioritization decisions in fast-moving delivery environments and communicate clearly with both field teams and senior executives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Travel: Able to travel regularly to AMER project sites and attend critical construction, commissioning, and stakeholder meetings as required.
