About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Associate to join our team on-site at our data center in Glomfjord. Taking advantage of the region’s green energy resources, our facility relies on stable, round-the-clock monitoring to maintain maximum up time for our clients.
As a NOC Associate, you are the first line of defense. You will be responsible for monitoring our network infrastructure, servers, and environmental systems in real-time. This is a technical, hands-on role where you will identify anomalies, troubleshoot initial issues, and escalate complex problems to senior engineers. If you love solving technical puzzles and want to be at the heart of data center operations, this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Real-Time Monitoring: Continuously monitor network infrastructure, servers, storage systems, customer environments, and critical data centre infrastructure using enterprise monitoring platforms. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), and network monitoring applications to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability.
- Building Management System (BMS) Monitoring: Monitor the operational status of critical facility systems including electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, HVAC units, temperature, humidity, leak detection, fire detection, and access control. Respond to alarms, record observations, perform initial validation, and escalate issues to Facilities or Engineering teams in accordance with established procedures.
- Incident Response & Triage: Identify, acknowledge, log, and categorise alerts generated by network, server, BMS, and environmental monitoring systems. Perform first-line troubleshooting using documented procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs), resolving routine issues where possible and escalating more complex incidents appropriately.
- Ticketing & Documentation: Create, update, and manage incident and service tickets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation of alarms, troubleshooting activities, communications, actions taken, and resolution details. Maintain detailed operational records to support reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Escalation: Work closely with Tier 2/3 Network Engineers, Data Centre Operations, Facilities teams, Security personnel, local site technicians, and external vendors during operational events and critical incidents. Ensure timely escalation of issues and effective communication throughout the incident lifecycle.
- Shift Handovers: Participate in structured shift handovers, ensuring active incidents, BMS alarms, maintenance activities, operational risks, and outstanding tickets are accurately documented and communicated to the incoming shift to maintain continuous operations.
- Routine Maintenance Support: Assist with scheduled network maintenance, hardware health checks, system updates, infrastructure inspections, and routine operational tasks during approved maintenance windows. Monitor systems before, during, and after maintenance activities to verify successful completion and identify any unexpected issues.
- Environmental Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor data centre environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, airflow, and power status. Record significant events and support the preparation of daily operational and shift reports detailing alarms, incidents, maintenance activities, and facility performance.
- Operational Compliance: Follow established operational procedures, health and safety requirements, security policies, and escalation processes. Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company standards, customer service level agreements (SLAs), and data centre operational best practices.
About You

Technical Skills
- Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and firewalls).
- Monitoring & Systems: Familiarity with monitoring tools (such as Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, or SolarWinds) and ticketing systems (like Jira Service Management or ServiceNow).
- OS Knowledge: Basic comfort level working with Linux/Unix command lines and Windows Server environments.
