Design and Construction Commissioning Lead - APAC
We’re hiring an APAC Commissioning Lead to deliver AI Data Centre infrastructure construction in Singapore, with regional engagement as needed. You’ll lead fast-paced, high-dependency projects in live or new-build data centre environments where you will be driving safe, compliant, on-time delivery of high-density AI-ready infrastructure (power, cooling, white space readiness, commissioning readiness, and handover). You will own disciplined execution across construction processes, document control governance, and contract administration.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical knowledge, operational rigor, and strong cross-functional collaboration. You will be expected to work and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders within the region (approximately 30%-40%).
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end commissioning activities for mission-critical data centre projects, including Mechanical, Electrical, ELV and BMS systems
- Familiar with Data Centre Cx-L0 to CxL6 Commissioning activities for both self-built data centres and colocation data centres within the APAC region
- Manage commissioning planning, execution, scheduling, documentation and system turnover to operations/client teams
- Coordinate with construction, design, vendors, contractors and client stakeholders to ensure commissioning milestones are achieved
- Review and approve commissioning procedures, test scripts, method statements and integrated systems testing (IST) protocols
- Drive compliance with project specifications, safety standards, quality requirements and operational readiness expectations
- Oversee functional testing of all critical MEP infrastructure equipment such as UPS, generators, EPODS and SKIDS, FanWall/CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, switchgears, transformers, fire systems and control systems
- Identify technical issues, manage troubleshooting activities and ensure timely resolution during commissioning phases
- Track commissioning progress, risks and reporting metrics, providing regular updates to project leadership and clients
- Ensure all commissioning documentation, punch lists, red-line markups and turnover packages are completed accurately
- Support site acceptance testing (SAT), client witnessing activities and final handover for live operational environments
- Implement and manage comprehensive risk, issue, and change management processes to mitigate delivery risks in complex, high-stakes environments
- Ensure all Data Centre projects and operations adhere to internal governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and security standards
- Ensure compliance with global EHS policies and high-risk activity standards
- Maintain project risk registers with mitigation plans and regular stakeholder reporting
- Regularly review assigned project construction progress, QA/QC, commissioning progress, issue status and metrics to report to management
- Ability to communicate across various teams and build a cohesive team environment.

- Coach and mentor project teams in successful data center commissioning project delivery strategy in alignment with DCI road map
- Refine practices/policies and develop methods/techniques for driving solutions including development of commissioning procedures
- Provide training and technical support to stakeholders on commissioning process, automated commissioning management system, specifications and best practices.
- Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite engineers, as well as provide site progress evaluations, safety audits, and startup as needed.

About You
- Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Technology, Computer Science or related field
- PMP/Prince2 or construction/engineering qualification is an advantage
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Centre facility construction and commissioning, with a strong background utilizing electrical and mechanical test equipment
- Proficiency with project/document platforms (e.g., Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint) and strong documentation management skills.
- Proven track record of developing Commissioning Test Scripts and Method Statements referencing to known Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning protocols standards
- Self-motivated. Adaptable. Good communication skills
- Experienced in leading multi-discipline teams to deliver projects
- Be disciplined manager assigning and reviewing tasks
- Able to travel occasionally (around 30%-40% of time)
- Experiences working in different countries / regional exposure is an advantage
- High-density / AI-ready delivery exposure (accelerated fit-outs, constrained power/cooling, tight commissioning windows) is an advantage
