About the Role

We are seeking a Construction Manager to support on-site delivery of Nscale’s Glomfjord data centre project and associated enabling works. This is a site-based owner-side role responsible for overseeing construction execution from site preparation through commissioning and turnover.

The role will act as Nscale’s client-side construction lead, overseeing and challenging the main contractor on field execution, sequencing, safety, quality and progress.

You will oversee day-to-day field execution, coordinate contractors and trades, maintain safety and quality standards, and keep the project on schedule and aligned to budget. This role is well suited to a construction leader with deep experience delivering complex infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects in the field. A college degree is not required; we value practical construction leadership, sound judgement, and a proven ability to deliver.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities across site preparation, structural, electrical, mechanical, commissioning, and turnover phases.
  • Oversee and coordinate with the general contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners, ensuring work is properly sequenced and delivered to specification.
  • Support construction schedule management by validating field progress, identifying critical-path risks and driving corrective action with the contractors.
  • Support cost control and change management by providing field-based progress validation, construction input and early identification of scope, productivity or sequencing impacts.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in line with Norwegian HSE regulations, project SHA/HSE plans, permit-to-work requirements and Nscale standards
  • Drive quality control across disciplines, including inspections, punch lists, testing, and commissioning of critical power and cooling systems.
  • Serve as a primary on-site contact for project stakeholders, engineers, vendors, inspectors, and local authorities.
  • Review drawings, RFIs, and submittals; resolve field conflicts and coordinate engineering clarifications.
  • Coordinate procurement and logistics for materials and long-lead equipment to support uninterrupted progress.
  • Support permitting, inspections, regulatory compliance, and local jurisdiction coordination.
  • Report progress, risks, blockers and milestones to the Delivery Director and wider project leadership.

About You (Skills / Qualifications)

  • Extensive progressive construction management experience, including significant time leading large-scale, complex, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects in the field.
  • Experience in building data centres, power plants, industrial facilities, or other large mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrated success managing schedules, budgets, contractors, and multiple trades on active job sites.
  • Deep understanding of construction safety standards and OSHA HSE requirements, with a record of leading safe job sites.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions quickly in the field.
  • Ability to work full-time on site in Glomfjord, Norway.
  • Fluent in English; Norwegian advantageous.
  • Experience working in Norway with contractors, local authorities, inspections, permit-to-work processes and construction-phase HSE/SHA requirements is strongly advantageous.
