About the Role


We’re looking for an U.S.-based AI & Data Privacy Senior Manager that has exceptional people, leadership
& communication skills, a pragmatic leader who can operate across every terrain:

● You're comfortable problem solving & making decisions on complex legal, regulatory and
commercial topics with high levels of ambiguity in a results driven environment.
● You have a good understanding of corporate and operational environments and appreciate
the needs of a rapidly scaling business
● You’re comfortable influencing without authority and exceptional at building relationships
with senior stakeholders across the business to get things done.
● You have the understanding and skillset to grasp legal, regulatory, operational and
technology concepts and problems quickly and are well versed with key U.S., EU and APAC
privacy laws and regulations
● You have strong analytical skills
● You’re a doer who is extremely organised and diligent
● You’re a self starter, curious, and quick to learn, knowing what questions to ask to get up to
speed quickly


What You’ll be Doing 


● You’ll lead and/or contribute as a subject matter expert (SME) to high priority, complex,
varied projects in the U.S. and globally across the legal, regulatory, corporate and tech &
ops domains and ensure privacy-, AI-and-cyber-by-design.
● You’ll conduct or support DPIAs, TIAs and AI conformity assessments and liaise with teams
across the business to ensure these are actioned.
● You partner with the commercial legal, procurement, security, operations, AI infra and
other teams to ensure proper third party risk management of suppliers and customers
including due diligence (DD) and contractual controls (privacy, AI and cyber provisions,
DPAs, data transfer compliance)
● You support investor DD, M&A and similar workstreams as an SME
● You partner with the cyber, tech & ops and other teams on incident response and cyber
investigations.
● You design, draft and oversee implementation of data and AI policies and processes.
● You manage DSARs, complaints or regulatory enquiries, e.g. from the ICO or other data
regulators.
● You support the Legal & Compliance team on Board and executive reporting.
● You lead on executing our Privacy & Information Security Compliance and AI Governance,
Risk and Compliance programmes (including through privacy enhancing technologies) in
the U.S. but also support execution in other regions, engaging with other stakeholders on
enterprise risk management and provide tactical SME support to key stakeholders from
the HR, Marketing, Finance, tech & ops and other communities.
● You’ll foster a collaborative environment by actively engaging with cross-functional teams,

About You 


● U.S.-qualified attorney. with several years of experience in-house, preferably in a U.S. or
international tech company (e.g. hyperscaler, AI lab); will consider exceptional private
practice candidates
● Previous experience and knowledge of data privacy, cyber, AI and other data laws
including good familiarity with U.S. federal and state data laws, the EU and UK GDPR, the EU
AI Act and similar laws in APAC.
● Strong analytical and project management skills - inquisitive and proactive self-starter
with attention to detail used to deliver quality work products to tight deadlines.
● Ability to think strategically while executing effectively at a tactical and operational level.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of
the organisation.
● High degree of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive business issues.
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
● Professional Privacy and/or AI qualifications (e.g. IAPP CIPM, CIPP/E or AIGP)


Nice to Have:


● Exposure to high-growth startup or tech environments
● Solid understanding of multiple, intersecting legal and regulatory frameworks, specifically
in the area of cloud computing
● Good knowledge of privacy enhancing technologies and other tech tools (e.g. OneTrust,
BigID)
