About the Role |
|
The Vice President, Technical Assurance & Readiness – North America is responsible for leading Nscale's technical assurance, quality, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and readiness programs across all North American data center developments. This executive leadership role provides oversight and governance for the validation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and critical infrastructure systems throughout the project lifecycle. The position ensures facilities are delivered in accordance with Nscale standards, design intent, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and operational performance objectives. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Construction, the VP serves as the primary authority for technical quality, systems validation, commissioning excellence, and project readiness. Working closely with Development, Engineering, Design, Construction, Operations, Supply Chain, and external partners, this leader will establish and continuously improve Nscale's assurance framework while driving consistency, risk reduction, and delivery excellence across a rapidly growing portfolio of hyperscale and AI data center projects. |

What You’ll be Doing (Responsibilities) |
Technical Assurance Leadership● Establish and lead Nscale's Technical Assurance program across all North American projects. ● Develop and maintain technical standards, specifications, governance frameworks, and assurance processes. ● Ensure compliance with Nscale standards, industry best practices, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory codes. ● Lead technical reviews, audits, and compliance assessments throughout the project lifecycle. ● Drive standardization and continuous improvement across all projects and regions. Quality Assurance & Quality Control● Provide executive oversight of QA/QC programs and quality management systems. ● Establish quality metrics, reporting structures, and performance benchmarks. ● Ensure inspection, testing, documentation, and quality verification activities are effectively executed. ● Lead investigation and resolution of quality-related issues and non-conformances. ● Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. MEP Systems Assurance● Oversee technical validation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and life safety systems. ● Ensure systems are installed and tested in accordance with approved design documents and operational requirements. ● Establish acceptance criteria and verification protocols for critical systems. ● Partner with Engineering and Design teams to identify and mitigate technical risks early in the project lifecycle. ● Support standardization initiatives and technical innovation across the portfolio. Commissioning & Integrated Systems Testing● Lead commissioning strategy, planning, and execution across all North American projects. ● Establish commissioning standards, procedures, and governance requirements. ● Oversee commissioning consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal commissioning teams. ● Ensure successful execution of Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and reliability validation activities. ● Verify systems achieve required performance, resiliency, reliability, and maintainability objectives prior to turnover. Readiness & Turnover● Develop and manage readiness frameworks and project stage-gate processes. ● Establish criteria for technical completion, system acceptance, and facility turnover. ● Ensure required documentation, testing records, training materials, operating procedures, and turnover packages are completed. ● Lead readiness reviews and executive approval processes. ● Partner with Operations teams to support successful facility transitions and startup activities. Technical Risk Management● Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, commissioning, quality, and readiness risks. ● Lead technical risk reviews and escalation processes. ● Support enterprise risk management initiatives related to project delivery. ● Drive lessons learned programs and incorporate findings into future standards and project execution strategies. Leadership & Organizational Development● Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technical assurance and commissioning organization. ● Establish staffing plans, performance objectives, and professional development programs. ● Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and technical excellence. ● Support succession planning and organizational growth initiatives. Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Management● Provide regular reporting to executive leadership regarding quality, commissioning, readiness, and project performance. ● Present project status, technical risks, mitigation strategies, and readiness assessments to senior leadership. ● Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Procurement, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. |

About You (Skills / Qualifications) |
Education● Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services, or a related technical discipline required. ● Advanced degree (MBA or Master's) preferred. Experience● Minimum 15 years of experience delivering mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, industrial infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects. ● Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams. ● Extensive experience in MEP systems, QA/QC, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project readiness. ● Demonstrated success delivering complex data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects. ● Experience leading multi-site or regional programs preferred. The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs. Nscale may offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
Salary Range
$200,000 - $300,000 USD
