About the Role
The Senior Director, PMO - Data Center Infrastructure will lead the Program Management Office responsible for enabling predictable, coordinated, and transparent delivery across the data center infrastructure portfolio. This role serves as a critical connective function across internal teams, ensuring stakeholders are aligned on priorities, dependencies, risks, decisions, and execution plans required to deliver data center capacity successfully.
This leader will partner closely with Data Center Development, Design & Construction, Engineering, Power & Utilities, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Commercial, Security, Network, Operations, Project Controls, and Executive Leadership to create a single operating rhythm across complex infrastructure programs. The role is accountable for driving internal alignment, facilitating decision-making, removing blockers, and ensuring teams are coordinated from planning through operational readiness.
The ideal candidate has deep experience leading PMO or strategic program functions in data center infrastructure, cloud, AI, colocation, construction, energy, or mission-critical environments. They should be highly effective at influencing without authority, aligning senior stakeholders, translating complexity into clear decisions, and ensuring disciplined execution of established delivery, governance, and controls standards.
What You'll be Doing
Internal Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment
- Act as the central coordination and alignment leader across internal teams involved in data center infrastructure delivery.
- Build trusted partnerships with functional leaders across Development, Engineering, Construction, Power, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Network, Operations, Security, Project Controls, and Commercial teams.
- Establish clear communication channels, decision forums, escalation paths, and operating rhythms to keep stakeholders aligned across the full delivery lifecycle.
- Drive alignment on program priorities, delivery milestones, ownership, dependencies, risk mitigation plans, and executive decisions required to maintain momentum.
- Proactively identify areas of misalignment, ambiguity, or competing priorities and facilitate resolution with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical, commercial, operational, and financial inputs into clear, actionable plans and decision points for leadership.
PMO Leadership & Operating Model
- Lead the Data Center Infrastructure PMO, including governance structure, program cadence, stakeholder engagement model, executive reporting rhythm, and delivery assurance mechanisms.
- Execute established PMO and Project Controls standards across the data center infrastructure portfolio, ensuring consistent adoption by program teams.
- Drive adherence to defined processes for milestone tracking, risk review, decision management, change governance, dependency management, and issue resolution.
- Ensure the PMO operates as an enablement function that improves execution, transparency, and accountability across delivery teams.
- Establish clear ownership models, RACI frameworks, stage gates, and handoff points across the end-to-end data center infrastructure lifecycle.
Portfolio Governance & Executive Reporting
- Own portfolio-level visibility across active and planned data center infrastructure programs.
- Develop executive dashboards, business reviews, steering committee materials, and leadership reporting that clearly communicate program health, risks, dependencies, decisions, and required actions.
- Facilitate executive governance forums to align leadership on priorities, trade-offs, resource constraints, critical path decisions, and delivery commitments.
- Track and communicate key risks, milestone status, budget exposure, delivery constraints, and decision requirements across the portfolio using established reporting standards.
Cross-Functional Delivery Coordination
- Serve as the connective tissue across internal delivery teams to ensure workstreams are integrated and sequenced effectively.
- Partner with functional owners to align plans across site acquisition, power availability, utility interconnection, design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, network readiness, security readiness, and operational handoff.
- Drive integrated planning across long-lead equipment, vendor commitments, internal approvals, commercial obligations, resource availability, and operational readiness requirements.
- Facilitate working sessions, leadership reviews, and escalation meetings to ensure issues are resolved quickly and decisions are made at the right level.
- Maintain clear documentation of decisions, action items, owners, timelines, and follow-through across stakeholder groups.
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing PMO team of program managers, portfolio managers, delivery managers, and program analysts.
- Set clear expectations for stakeholder engagement, communication quality, program discipline, standards execution, and delivery enablement.
- Coach the team on executive communication, cross-functional influence, issue resolution, and structured decision-making.
- Promote a PMO culture grounded in service, accountability, transparency, and business impact.
About You
- 10+ years of experience in program management, PMO leadership, infrastructure delivery, data center development, construction program management, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale capital programs.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing senior program managers or cross-functional PMO teams.
- Experience supporting large-scale data center, hyperscale, colocation, cloud, AI infrastructure, telecom, energy, or mission-critical infrastructure programs.
- Demonstrated success aligning senior internal stakeholders across technical, commercial, operational, financial, legal, project controls, and executive functions.
- Strong ability to influence without direct authority and drive accountability across matrixed organizations.
- Experience executing established portfolio governance, program reporting, delivery assurance, risk review, dependency management, decision tracking, and change governance processes.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site, multi-stakeholder programs with significant capital, schedule, operational, and organizational dependencies.
- Experience creating executive-level reporting, steering committee materials, decision memos, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including familiarity with CapEx planning, budget tracking, forecasting, procurement dependencies, and vendor-related risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex program information for executive audiences.
- High degree of ownership, judgment, urgency, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.
