About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead on-site delivery for Nscale’s data centre campus in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This is a site-based leadership role responsible for driving construction from site preparation through commissioning and turnover.
You will oversee day-to-day field execution, coordinate contractors and trades, maintain safety and quality standards, and keep the project on schedule and aligned to budget. This role is well suited to a construction leader with deep experience delivering complex infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects in the field. A college degree is not required; we value practical construction leadership, sound judgement, and a proven ability to deliver.
What You'll be Doing
- Lead and oversee on-site construction activities across site preparation, structural, electrical, mechanical, commissioning, and turnover phases.
- Manage general contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners, ensuring work is properly sequenced and delivered to specification.
- Own construction schedule management, including tracking progress, identifying critical-path risks, and driving corrective action.
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs, review change orders, and support cost control against forecast.
- Enforce a strong safety culture in line with OSHA requirements, site safety plans, and Nscale standards.
- Drive quality control across disciplines, including inspections, punch lists, testing, and commissioning of critical power and cooling systems.
- Serve as a primary on-site contact for project stakeholders, engineers, vendors, inspectors, and local authorities.
- Review drawings, RFIs, and submittals; resolve field conflicts and coordinate engineering clarifications.
- Coordinate procurement and logistics for materials and long-lead equipment to support uninterrupted progress.
- Support permitting, inspections, regulatory compliance, and local jurisdiction coordination.
- Report progress, risks, and milestones to construction leadership on a regular cadence.
About You
- Extensive progressive construction management experience, including significant time leading large-scale, complex, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects in the field.
- Proven track record managing full project lifecycles from groundbreaking through commissioning and turnover.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated success managing schedules, budgets, contractors, and multiple trades on active job sites.
- Deep understanding of construction safety standards and OSHA requirements, with a record of leading safe job sites.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions quickly in the field.
- Ability to work full-time on site in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
- Ability to move through an active construction site, including outdoor conditions, uneven terrain, and areas requiring personal protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice to Have
- Experience building data centres, power plants, industrial facilities, or other large mission-critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with critical power distribution, backup generation, and advanced or liquid cooling systems.
- Experience coordinating commissioning of complex MEP systems.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Relevant trade certifications or professional construction certifications.
