About the Role (Job Purpose)

Nscale is seeking a Finance Manager, AI Infrastructure to partner with engineering and operations leadership in scaling the financial backbone of our global AI compute platform.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role is responsible for owning financial planning, cost governance, and performance analysis across high-growth AI Infrastructure investments.

AI infrastructure is capital intensive and operationally complex. This role will build financial models that drive investment decisions, optimize unit economics across compute workloads, and establish visibility into cost drivers such as utilization, power, and capacity efficiency.

The Finance Manager will work cross-functionally to implement robust forecasting, track ROI on infrastructure deployments, and support strategic decisions on build vs. buy, vendor selection, and long-term capacity planning.

This is a high-impact finance role requiring strong analytical rigor, experience with infrastructure or cloud cost models, and the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable financial insights.

What You’ll be Doing (Responsibilities)

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – AI Infrastructure
•    Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting for AI infrastructure (GPUs, cloud, and related platforms).
•    Build and maintain financial models for capacity, utilization, and cost trends.
•    Analyze variances across compute, cloud, and network spend, highlighting key drivers and risks.
•    Track and report on core KPIs such as cost per GPU hour and utilization.

Cost Analysis & Optimization
•    Support development of unit economics for AI workloads (training and inference).
•    Identify cost efficiency opportunities across cloud usage, hardware, and vendor spend.
•    Partner with engineering teams to understand drivers of cost and usage patterns.
•    Contribute to analysis supporting pricing and margin improvement initiatives.

Investment & Business Case Support
•    Build financial models and analysis to support infrastructure investment decisions.
•    Assist in evaluating trade-offs across capacity expansion and deployment strategies.
•    Track actual performance against investment assumptions and highlight variances.

Cross-Functional Business Partnering
•    Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and procurement teams to support financial decision-making.
•    Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable financial insights.
•    Support vendor analysis and contract evaluations through financial modeling.

Reporting, Controls & Governance
•    Produce regular reporting on infrastructure spend and performance.
•    Help establish and maintain cost tracking and governance processes.
•    Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems and reports.

About You (Skills / Qualifications)

Required Experience
•    5–8 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or infrastructure / cloud finance roles at a high-growth or top-tier technology company.
•    Advanced financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and long-range planning.
•    Experience owning or materially contributing to forecasting and planning in a complex, usage-based or infrastructure-heavy environment.
•    Strong understanding of cost drivers in cloud, compute, or infrastructure systems (e.g., utilization, capacity, unit cost dynamics).
•    Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering or technical teams and influence decision-making.
•    Track record of driving insights from large, ambiguous datasets and translating them into clear recommendations.
•    High proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; experience with SQL and data tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).

Nice to Have
•    Experience in AI, GPU cloud, or distributed infrastructure environments.
•    Exposure to unit economics and margin modeling for usage-based products.
•    Experience with capital allocation, investment analysis, or capacity planning.
•    Familiarity with vendor pricing structures, cloud economics, and contract negotiation support.
•    Background in fast-scaling environments where infrastructure cost is a key driver of business performance.

Who You Are
•    A high-ownership operator who can independently drive analyses from problem definition through to recommendation.
•    Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where it does not yet exist.
•    Able to engage credibly with technical stakeholders and challenge assumptions with data.
•    Focused on first-principles thinking, not just reporting historicals.
•    Detail-oriented and intellectually rigorous, with a high bar for accuracy and clarity.
•    Biased toward action, with a strong sense of accountability and urgency.
•    Motivated by solving complex, high-impact problems at the intersection of finance and infrastructure.
