Sr. Manager EHS Electrical SME

US

.

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, EHS Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the
development, implementation, and oversight of electrical health, safety, and environmental (EHS)
standards across Nscale's global data centre infrastructure and deployment operations.
You'll be hands-on, execution-focused, and comfortable working in a complex environment spanning
hyperscale GPU clusters, critical infrastructure, and multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks (ISO
27001, ISO 22237, IEC 61936, NFPA 70E, and local electrical codes). This role will directly support
operational safety maturity, incident prevention, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across
all Nscale sites and systems.
This role requires a deep technical understanding of electrical systems in high-performance computing
environments and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, scalable safety
protocols.
The candidate shall be able to work in a dynamic, high-intensity environment and support the DC team
achieving project deliverables

What You’ll be Doing (Responsibilities)
Electrical Safety & Compliance
● Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical safety policies, procedures, and standards
aligned with NFPA 70E, IEC 61936, ISO 22237, and local electrical codes across all
jurisdictions.
● Support ongoing compliance with electrical safety regulations, including arc flash hazard
analysis, electrical equipment maintenance, and safe work practices.
● Conduct electrical safety audits and assessments across data centres, deployment sites, and
infrastructure facilities.
● Maintain electrical safety documentation, hazard registers, and control evidence for internal and
external audits.
● Support third-party electrical inspections and certifications, ensuring alignment with design
standards and operational requirements.
Technical Leadership & Design Review
● Act as the primary electrical SME for infrastructure projects, providing input on electrical system
design, BOM specifications, and deployment architecture.
● Review electrical designs, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications to ensure safety,
efficiency, and compliance.
● Partner with the internal EHS team as well as stakeholders to ensure strategy is communicated
effectively.
● Collaborate with Network Engineering, Operational Engineering, and Deployment teams to
ensure electrical systems meet performance and safety requirements.
● Provide technical guidance on power distribution, grounding, surge protection, and redundancy

in GPU-intensive environments.
● Support the development of electrical reference architectures and best practices for rapid, safe
deployment.

Operational Safety & Risk Management
● Oversee electrical hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies across all
operational sites.
● Develop and maintain electrical safety training programs for technicians, engineers, and
operational staff.
● Support incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action for electrical safety
events.
● Establish and track electrical safety KPIs/KRIs (e.g., near-miss reporting, hazard closure rates,
training compliance).
● Maintain electrical equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and testing records (e.g., PAT
testing, thermography).
● Enforcement of contractor EHS requirements during project planning, and execution phases.
● Escalate unacceptable risk or performance that exceeds NSCALE’s tolerance
Governance, Risk & Compliance
● Partner and ensure safety controls for high-risk construction work including:
○ High-voltage electrical installation and commissioning
○ Energized work and arc flash risk
● Support the development and maintenance of electrical safety management systems (ESMS)
aligned with ISO standards.
● Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, electrical inspectors, and certification authorities.
● Prepare electrical safety documentation for board reporting, audit readiness, and stakeholder
communication.
● Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual compliance and reporting
overhead.
● Track and report on control effectiveness, audit findings, and remediation progress to senior
leadership.
Assurance, Audits & Compliance
● Conduct electrical safety audits, inspections, across area of accountability
● Ensure consistent application of regulatory standards across all sites
● Execute data driven action plans for sites, develop focus plans for improvement when
necessary, work with external partners to implement action items and track to closure.
● Build a consistent process for field audits, identify systemic gaps and escalate.
Incident & Crisis Management
● Lead or support investigations into electrical incidents, near misses, and potentially severe
events involving contractors.
● Ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented by responsible
parties.
● Share lessons learned across project teams and contractor organizations to prevent
recurrence.
● Participate in construction emergency response coordination and crisis management from a

workforce safety perspective
Awareness & Culture
● Develop clear communications and training materials to reinforce electrical safety
accountability across teams.
● Lead electrical safety awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
● Foster a safety-first culture where all employees understand electrical hazards and safe work
practices.
● Support employee advocacy and near-miss reporting programs.
Decision Rights
● Escalate or halt construction activities presenting unacceptable risk
● Influence construction sequencing, resourcing, and schedule decisions based on safety risk
