About the Role

The Project Controller is a key member of the Project Controls team, responsible for the

financial and administrative activities of multiple data center construction projects. This

role works closely with the VP of Commercial Management (Project Controls), Project

Managers, and Cost Managers to ensure rigorous financial oversight, accurate

reporting, and adherence to project plans and budgets. The candidate shall be able to work in a dynamic, high-intensity environment and support the DC team achieving project deliverables.

 

What You’ll be Doing (Responsibilities)

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Project Setup—Assist in the administrative setup and documentation for new

projects. Support the team from due diligence through project delivery.

  • Stakeholder Support—Provide support and tracking for the project management team and other internal stakeholders, including Design, Equipment Procurement, Construction Management, and Health & Safety.
  • Process Improvement—Recommend and implement improvements to project

processes.

Project Financial Management & Cost Control

  • Cost Management—Track and maintain a view of commitments and costs
  • against the project’s established budget baseline.
  • Invoicing & Payment—Administer requisitions, process invoices, manage Purchase Orders (POs), and coordinate payments to vendors.
  • Tracking & Reporting—Maintain budget tracking tools, perform detailed cost tracking, and work with Cost Managers to produce financial forecasts and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Issue Identification—Continuously monitor the projects’ financial and scheduling factors, identifying and clearly expressing any concerns or deviations from the baseline.
  • Compliance—Ensure project financial activities comply with company policies and financial regulations.

 

About You (Skills / Qualifications)

Required

  • Education—A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management is typically preferred.
  • Experience—Proven experience in project financial control, cost management, and project administration.
  • Technical Skills—Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Suite are required. Familiarity with common project management systems is a plus.
  • Core Competencies—Strong analytical skills, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication—Excellent written and verbal communication skills with key requirements in understanding in data center construction.  Ability to communicate effectively across a number of different business functions.
