What You’ll Be Doing

Benefits Strategy & Design

  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve Nscale’s global benefits offering as part of the Total Reward Team, reporting into the VP of Reward, supporting attraction, retention, and employee wellbeing in a fast-scaling tech environment.
  • Own the end-to-end global benefits strategy, ensuring a compelling, competitive, and scalable offering aligned to Nscale’s values and growth plans.
  • Balance global consistency with local nuance, ensuring benefits feel equitable while remaining compliant and culturally relevant in each location.
  • Conduct regular market benchmarking to ensure Nscale’s benefits remain competitive across key talent markets, including but not limited to UK, US, Netherlands, Norway and Singapore.

Global Compliance & Risk Management

  • Manage global benefits compliance, ensuring all offerings meet local statutory requirements, minimum benefits, and employment legislation across regions.
  • Lead benefits due diligence for new country launches, including statutory requirements, risk assessments, and cost modelling.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Tax, payroll, and external advisors to identify and mitigate benefits-related risk.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of country-specific benefits, policies, and compliance requirements.

Vendor & Renewal Management

  • Own relationships with global and local benefits providers, brokers, and advisors.
  • Lead the annual benefits renewal process, including data review, negotiations, cost optimisation, and executive recommendations.
  • Ensure service quality, SLAs, and value for money across all benefits vendors.
  • Manage EOR (Employer of Record) benefits alignment, ensuring parity and transparency between EOR and directly employed populations where possible.

Financial Partnership & Cost Management

  • Partner with Finance to ensure benefits costs, invoices, accruals, and forecasts are accurate and aligned to headcount plans.
  • Monitor benefits spend and proactively identify opportunities for cost control, efficiency, or redesign without negatively impacting employee experience.

Employee Experience, Enablement & Documentation

  • Own benefits communication strategy, ensuring employees clearly understand their benefits and how to use them.
  • Create and maintain clear Q&A documentation, knowledge bases, and chatbot content for HR Ops and employees.
  • Partner with HR Ops to ensure seamless benefits onboarding, enrollment windows, life-event changes, and offboarding experiences.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex benefits queries and issues.

Systems, Data & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and enhance benefits data within HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms, ensuring accuracy and strong controls.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual administration and improve reporting and scalability.
  • Build dashboards and reporting to track benefits utilisation, cost trends, and employee engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Payroll, HR Ops, People Partners, Finance, Legal, and external providers to ensure benefits are delivered accurately and consistently.
  • Provide expert guidance to leadership on benefits strategy, compliance, and cost implications.
  • Support M&A or restructuring activity from a benefits perspective where required.

About You

  • Experience in global benefits management, ideally within a fast-growing tech or scale-up environment.
  • Strong experience designing and managing benefits across multiple geographies, particularly the UK, US.
  • Deep understanding of global benefits compliance, local statutory requirements, and benefits risk management.
  • Proven experience managing benefits vendors, brokers, and EOR providers.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience partnering with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and total reward cost analysis.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building scalable benefits frameworks from first principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits topics clearly.
  • Strong data and systems mindset; advanced Excel skills and experience working with HRIS and benefits platforms (e.g. Workday, or similar).
  • High attention to detail, strong judgement, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
