If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.

About the Role

As Global Lead, Community Engagement, you will be responsible for ensuring that Nscale’s data centre projects are developed in a way that earns and sustains local community support.

This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence over how projects are designed and delivered. You will work closely with teams across the company to ensure that community engagement is a core part of how Nscale builds.

You will set global standards and frameworks, while also focusing on individual projects at a local level to engage and support the community and relevant stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

Global Standards

  • Define and own Nscale’s global approach to community engagement across data centre projects.

  • Develop clear frameworks and standards for:

    • Local hiring and skills development

    • Community benefits and investment

    • Sustainability and circularity initiatives (e.g. waste heat reuse, energy integration)

    • Ongoing community dialogue and transparency

  • Ensure alignment between community commitments and Nscale’s broader sustainability and business objectives.

Project-Level Engagement & Support

  • Support individual project teams with:

    • Stakeholder mapping and engagement strategies

    • Assessment and mitigation for community concerns

    • Engagement sequencing across planning, construction, and operations

  • Help project teams design credible, deliverable commitments that reflect local needs and constraints. This will require significant travel to our sites to partner with local communities effectively

Internal Influence & Change

  • Work cross-functionally with data centre, engineering, legal, and wider teams to embed community considerations into early-stage decision-making.

  • Build internal capability by sharing best practice and lessons learned across regions.

External Relationships

  • Engage with local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and other stakeholders as needed on priority projects.

  • Ensure Nscale is seen as a constructive, long-term partner in the communities where it operates.

About You

  • 8+ years’ experience in infrastructure, energy, utilities, data centres, or major capital projects, with a strong focus on community, stakeholder, or social impact engagement.

  • Proven experience working on complex projects, including managing sensitive stakeholder dynamics, and a willingness to travel regularly to our sites.

  • Strong understanding of planning, permitting, and local political processes.

  • Ability to translate high-level sustainability goals into practical, project-level action.

  • Confident operating with senior internal stakeholders and influencing decisions under time pressure.

  • Pragmatic, credible, and comfortable making trade-offs in complex environments.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the judgement to engage externally when required.

  • Experience in global or multi-country projects is a strong advantage
