Director of Product Communications
New York
About Nothing
Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.
We’re building a different kind of technology company, one that puts design, emotion, and human creativity at the heart of everything we do. From the way our products look and feel to how we communicate and show up in culture, we believe technology should make you feel something.
Founded in London in 2020, we’ve grown from idea to global challenger in just a few years. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Ventures, and investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’re now sold in 40+ markets with millions of users worldwide.
About the Team
Nothing makes consumer tech that's worth getting excited about again. We're a small, independent company with a global footprint — and we're now building the communications function to match our ambition.
This is a product communications role with global reach. Based in New York, you'll sit alongside our Global Head of Communications, owning the earned media strategy for our hardware and software products across key markets worldwide. We're investing heavily in audio, AI, and next-generation computing — and we need someone who can make those stories land with the right people, in the right rooms, at the right moment.
What You'll Do
-
Own global product communications strategy, covering hardware launches, software releases, and our growing AI and agentic services portfolio across key international markets.
-
Lead earned media strategy for Nothing's AI and voice product category — shaping how press and public understand what we're building at the frontier of consumer computing.
-
Build and manage relationships with top-tier technology and product journalists, editors, and analysts across the US, Europe, and Asia.
-
Run major product launch moments end-to-end: briefings, embargoes, press events, spokesperson prep, and post-launch coverage tracking.
-
Partner with the Global Head of Communications on integrated campaign moments where product and brand narratives intersect.
-
Define and manage agency relationships for product communications across key markets, including brief-writing, performance oversight, and budget accountability.
-
Feed market intelligence back into the global comms team — press appetite, narrative gaps, and competitive positioning across regions.
What We're Looking For
-
10+ years in communications, with meaningful time spent in-house at a consumer tech, hardware, or product-led company with a global footprint.
-
Proven track record in product communications — you've run a global launch, not just supported one.
-
Deep familiarity with the AI and emerging technology space, ideally with direct experience communicating complex software or AI products to a mainstream audience.
-
Strong existing relationships with technology press across multiple markets — you know who covers what, and they already know you.
-
Comfortable operating without a large team beneath you; you write your own pitches, manage your own inbox, and get things done.
-
Sharp judgement on what makes a story — and what kills one. You know how to make a product moment out of a product announcement, in any market.
-
Autonomous by default. You don't wait to be told what to do next — you already know, and you've started.
