THE ROLE

We are excited to be hiring a talented, motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our International Human Resources team.

Reporting to the Global Head of Talent, who oversees our Group’s global in-house recruitment, you'll have the opportunity to enhance your skills across the full recruitment lifecycle—from sourcing and engaging top talent to managing candidate selection and onboarding. This role offers hands-on experience in every aspect of the fast-paced recruitment process, including conducting searches, liaising with candidates, and collaborating with agencies.

Based primarily in London or Madrid, with flexible home-working options, you’ll also have the chance to travel regularly to our international offices. You'll work closely with our global People Team, including colleagues in People Operations and local in-country HR Managers.

While the role involves a significant amount of administrative work, we’re looking for someone who not only excels in these tasks but also continuously seeks ways to streamline processes, enhance the user experience, and strengthen governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Hiring Managers. Collaborate with solar sector experts to clarify role profiles and drive the entire talent acquisition process. Establish regular check-ins to ensure a smooth and dynamic hiring process that supports our growth in renewables.
  • Candidate Engagement. Serve as the first point of contact for both external and internal candidates passionate about solar energy. Create a welcoming and informative experience from the outset.
  • Job Requisition Management. Oversee job requisitions and carefully review applications to identify talent that aligns with our innovative projects in the renewable energy space.
  • Talent Sourcing. Proactively advertise opportunities through social networks, specialised job boards, referrals, and our internal network. Leverage industry connections and headhunt top talent with a passion for sustainable energy.
  • Network Building. Develop and nurture relationships within the solar and broader renewable energy community. Build talent pools to support our current and future hiring needs as we expand our portfolio.
  • Candidate Screening. Conduct thorough screening via phone, video calls, and in-person meetings. Assess candidates’ technical expertise, cultural fit, salary expectations, availability, and eligibility for work in our targeted locations.
  • Interview Coordination. Organise interviews with Hiring Managers, negotiate terms with candidates, and manage the coordination of offer letters, ensuring a seamless candidate journey.
  • Data-Driven Recruitment. Influence our hiring strategy by leveraging recruitment data and market insights to support the business's growth in the renewable energy sector.
  • Employer Branding. Play an active role in our employer branding initiatives, showcasing our commitment to sustainability and innovation in solar energy.
  • Onboarding Excellence. Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, completing all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly to set them up for success.
  • Collaborative Projects. Partner with colleagues on key initiatives such as our Entry Level Programme, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion projects, and Training programmes, all designed to strengthen our team and drive industry-leading excellence in the solar sector.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Time management & prioritization skills – things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical.
  • Excellent communication skills you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to help craft job descriptions and put together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate, warm and engaging.
  • Flexibility – being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelled out in your job description.
  • Intellectual Curiosity – Talent Acquisition is a broad and nuanced field and we are looking for someone who is truly interested in our profession and has the intellectual curiosity to delve deep into topics and bring fresh ideas into the team.
  • IT Literacy – you need to be comfortable with IT systems and working with data (using tools like advanced Excel or recruitment analytics software).
  • Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters!
  • Stakeholder Management – the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and external agencies is key. This includes navigating complex stakeholder environments and aligning recruitment strategies with business goals.
  • Strategic Thinking beyond day-to-day tasks, being able to contribute to long-term recruitment strategies and identify innovative solutions for talent acquisition in the solar sector is highly valuable.
  • Networking and Relationship Building – a proactive approach to building industry networks and leveraging these connections to source top talent is crucial in a competitive market.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Previous experience in talent acquisition or recruitment (either in-house or at an agency) is required.
  • Understanding of the solar energy sector and broader renewable energy trends is highly desirable. Knowledge of technical aspects and market dynamics will significantly enhance your effectiveness in recruiting top talent in this field.
  • Experience working in international markets or exposure to global business environments is desirable, as it will help you navigate our diverse and dynamic organisational landscape.
  • We are open to candidates with a range of experience levels. Those with more extensive backgrounds are encouraged to apply, provided they are comfortable with the role’s requirements and scope.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualifications are considered a strong asset.
